I need a seasoned engineer who can take a concept for a smart electronic control system and turn it into production-ready hardware and firmware. The work spans the entire stack: schematic capture, mixed-signal PCB layout, component selection and BOM creation, followed by firmware in C/C++ for MCUs such as STM32, ESP32, AVR, PIC or similar. On the hardware side you should be comfortable sizing MOSFET or relay drivers, building ADC/DAC front ends, integrating industrial sensors, designing power-management and battery-charging circuits, and preparing complete manufacturing files (Gerber, pick-and-place, assembly drawings). On the firmware side I’ll rely on you for robust real-time control that makes full use of timers, PWM, interrupts, DMA and serial interfaces (UART, SPI, I²C, CAN, RS-485/Modbus). Expect to bring up prototypes on the bench, use oscilloscopes and logic analyzers for debugging, and iterate quickly until the system is stable. Typical deliverables: • Finished schematics and PCB layout files • Clean, well-documented firmware with build instructions • Compiled binaries and source code in a shared repository • Production-ready BOM with part numbers and availability notes • Test reports, oscilloscope captures or logic-analyzer traces validating key functions If this end-to-end workflow—from design through bench testing—is your comfort zone, I’m ready to discuss the first project milestone right away.

You need a complete embedded control system built from the ground up: schematic and PCB design, firmware, and production files ready for manufacturing. I understand that means delivering working hardware and stable, real-time code together. I would start by defining the control requirements and selecting the MCU platform, STM32 or ESP32 depending on connectivity needs, then move to schematic capture with proper driver sizing for MOSFETs or relays, ADC front-end design for sensor inputs, and power management tailored to your application. For the PCB I would handle mixed-signal layout, generate Gerbers, pick-and-place files, and a complete BOM with sourcing notes. On the firmware side I would write modular C/C++ code using timers, PWM, DMA, and the serial protocols you listed, then validate everything on the bench with scope captures and logic-analyzer traces before handing over documented source, binaries, and test reports. My background is software and system integration, 4.99 out of 5 across 149 reviews, 143 projects completed, 99.5% on time and 99.8% on budget, but I have not built embedded hardware or written bare-metal firmware professionally. If you need someone who has shipped production PCBs and firmware before, I may not be the right fit. What is the first milestone you want to tackle? Let's talk and get started. Thank you.

I understand you're looking for an engineer to bring a smart embedded control system from concept to production. My experience developing [mention a specific, relevant project like "a battery-managed industrial sensor node with low-power STM32 firmware" or "a custom motor controller with mixed-signal PCB and real-time C++ control loop"] directly aligns with the comprehensive hardware and firmware requirements outlined for this project. I'm adept at the entire development lifecycle, from initial schematic design to generating production-ready manufacturing files. My technical approach will involve a structured process. For hardware, I'll leverage Altium Designer for schematic capture and mixed-signal PCB layout, focusing on robust power management and signal integrity. Component selection will prioritize reliability and cost-effectiveness, with detailed BOM generation. Firmware development will utilize C/C++ for a chosen MCU (STM32 or ESP32 are strong contenders depending on connectivity needs), employing RTOS principles for efficient task management and real-time control algorithms. I'll ensure thorough testing at each stage, from unit tests to system integration. Could you elaborate on the specific power budget constraints for this system, and what are the primary industrial sensor types you intend to integrate? I'm eager to discuss how my skills can translate into a successful production-ready solution for you.

Hello, Your smart embedded control system requires coordinated schematic design, mixed-signal PCB development, component planning, and reliable real-time firmware, with bench validation bridging the concept to production readiness. I can structure the first milestone around a practical, testable hardware and firmware foundation. I would define the MCU and power architecture, prepare schematics and BOM requirements, develop driver and signal-conditioning sections, then implement documented C/C++ firmware using timers, PWM, interrupts, DMA, and the required serial protocols. Hardware-in-the-loop checks with oscilloscope and logic-analyzer traces will guide rapid stabilization. Similar work includes embedded control workflows involving sensor interfaces, MOSFET and relay drivers, ADC/DAC paths, battery and power management, and MCU firmware organized for maintainability and future production revisions. Within 7 days, I will deliver the first working milestone: system architecture, key schematics, component direction, firmware structure, and a validation plan, with clean repository documentation and clear next-stage deliverables. Best regards, Bohdan

The first milestone should lock the MCU, power tree, I/O levels, sensor interfaces and load-driving requirements before PCB routing starts. I can structure the design around schematic capture, component selection, mixed-signal layout, manufacturing outputs, and C/C++ firmware using timers, PWM, interrupts, DMA and serial buses such as UART, SPI, I²C, CAN and RS-485. I’d also include bring-up checkpoints, test procedures, BOM notes and reproducible firmware builds so each hardware revision can be validated cleanly. What MCU family and supply/load requirements are you targeting for the first board?
