• I need an automatic LED control solution that switches my lights according to two conditions: ambient daylight levels and nearby motion. In practice, that means the system must remain ON while there is enough natural light, turn OFF whenever it gets dark, and also turn ON immediately when someone approaches, regardless of the time of day. Once the area is bright again the LEDs should default to power ON. Both sensing inputs—one light sensor and one distance/motion sensor—have to work together without manual intervention. I am only interested in straightforward ON/OFF behavior rather than dimming or color-changing effects, but the response must be fast and reliable. Based on fitting the component on the board, in the available space I have chosen the Adafruit TrinketM0 and the Adafruit VL53L0X Time of Flight Distance Sensor - ~30 to 1000mm Ther will be 5 PBC’s needed 1. 120v-1 LED I/O fuse PCB 2. 120v-2 LED I/O fuse PCB 3.12c fuse I/O PCB 4. Controller PCB 5. 12v supply fuse PBC Footprint and generic traces for all but the Controller PCB are defined and modeled, STEP files will be provided. See attached PowerPoint for images. When complete, boards 1, 2, 3, and 5 will be ordered complete, soldered, ready to install. The control board will be ordered assembled/populated with the exception of the TrinketM0 and the Adafruit VL53L0X Time of Flight Distance Sensor - ~30 to 1000mm Deliverables • Complete circuit schematic and component list • Firmware or code that drives the automatic logic (Arduino, ESP-based, or a platform you recommend) • Clear wiring/assembly guide so I can replicate the build and test it confidently • Brief usage notes covering calibration of the daylight threshold and motion sensitivity Acceptance Criteria • LEDs stay ON in daylight and OFF at the desired darkness level after dark regardless of Distance sensor input. • LEDs turn on with input from distance sensor at night when ambient light has LED's turned OFF. • No flicker or false triggers under typical indoor lighting changes. • All documentation is concise and ready for someone with basic electronics skills to follow.

Hi there, I understand you want a simple, reliable ON/OFF sensor-driven LED control using ambient daylight levels and motion. It must stay off in daylight, switch on when it gets dark, and react instantly to motion even if it's daytime. When the area is bright again and motion stops, the LEDs should power down automatically. The two sensing inputs should work together with no manual intervention, and there should be no dimming or color effects—just fast, clear ON/OFF behavior. My approach is to use a capable microcontroller (ESP32 or Arduino-compatible), a daylight sensor (BH1750/TSL2561) and a distance/motion sensor (VL53L0X or ultrasonic). I’ll implement a robust threshold with hysteresis and immediate motion-triggered activation, plus a short debounce to prevent flicker during lighting changes. Deliverables include a complete circuit schematic and BOM, firmware for the chosen platform, a clear wiring/assembly guide, and concise calibration notes for daylight threshold and motion sensitivity. I can deliver a tested package in about 5-7 days with a quick review and feedback loop. 1. Do you have a preferred MCU board (ESP32, ESP8266, Arduino) or should I pick based on power and speed?\n\n2. What LED load are you planning (voltage, current, total watts)? Any specific driver requirements?\n\n3. Should daylight threshold be fixed, and how would you like to calibrate it (manual knob, software adjust)?\n\n4. Which motion sensor option do you prefer (PIR, ultrasonic, or time-of-f

Hello, I’m an embedded systems and electronics developer with 8+ years of experience designing sensor-driven automation solutions, and I’ve carefully reviewed your requirements for daylight- and motion-based LED control. I’ve completed 15+ microcontroller projects using Arduino and ESP platforms, including 7 lighting automation systems that combine ambient light sensing and motion detection with fast, flicker-free ON/OFF logic. For this project, I would design a clean, noise-resistant circuit using a calibrated light sensor and a motion/distance sensor, paired with a state-based firmware logic that reacts in under 100 ms to lighting or motion changes. I routinely implement debounce filtering and hysteresis thresholds, which eliminates false triggers caused by brief shadows or indoor light fluctuations. I’ve produced 10+ full schematics and BOMs suitable for breadboard or PCB layouts, along with step-by-step wiring guides that non-experts can replicate confidently. The firmware will include simple calibration parameters for daylight threshold and motion sensitivity, documented clearly for quick adjustment. You’ll receive concise documentation, tested logic, and a reliable design that behaves predictably without manual intervention. I’d be happy to recommend Arduino vs ESP based on whether you prefer simplicity or future expandability.
