I need a clean, well-commented Arduino sketch for an ESP32 that calls the WeatherAPI service (Indian endpoint) once a day, extracts only the sunset time for my chosen location, and uses that value to energise or de-energise a relay on a GPIO pin at the right moment. Core flow • Connect to Wi-Fi with credentials placed in a separate header or clearly marked section. • Send an HTTP GET to WeatherAPI, using my key and either a city name or lat/long that I can edit easily. • Parse the returned JSON, pick out the “sunset” field, and convert it to a usable 24-hour time. • Compare the current RTC time on the ESP32 to the sunset time and switch the relay accordingly—ideally with a five-minute refresh window so the relay doesn’t chatter. • Fail-safe: if no fresh data arrives, keep the previous day’s schedule and log the error on Serial. Deliverables 1. Fully working .ino file ready for Arduino IDE / PlatformIO. 2. Brief README explaining required libraries, the expected JSON snippet, and where to enter Wi-Fi, API key, and pin number. Acceptance criteria – Sketch compiles for ESP32 DevKit-C without tweaking build flags. – JSON sunset value correctly parsed for any Indian timezone location provided by WeatherAPI. – Relay switches on the minute of sunset ±30 s in bench tests (I will simulate time with the RTC). No additional hardware control or sensor integration is needed—just the API call, parsing, and relay control around sunset.

HI, KINDLY READ THROUGH MY PROPOSAL I will deliver a clean, well-commented ESP32 Arduino sketch that fetches the daily sunset time from WeatherAPI (Indian endpoint), parses it accurately, and drives a relay at the correct moment with full fail-safe behaviour. MY APPROACH ✅ Wi-Fi credentials and API key in a clearly marked, editable section ✅ Daily HTTP GET to WeatherAPI with easy city or lat/long selection ✅ Robust JSON parsing of the sunset field and 24-hour conversion ✅ RTC comparison with 5-minute window to prevent relay chatter ✅ Fail-safe: retain previous schedule and Serial logging on error DELIVERABLES - Fully working .ino file (Arduino IDE / PlatformIO ready) - Brief README with libraries, JSON example and configuration points QUESTIONS 1. Preferred GPIO pin for the relay and active-high or active-low? 2. Exact location format you prefer (city name or lat/long)? 3. Any specific RTC library already in use on the ESP32? Ready to start as soon as the relay pin preference and sample location are confirmed.

I have done good number of projects using esp32. In this project we will get the json data and parse it to get the sun set value, compare with the local time on esp32 and switch the relay connected to the GPIO.

Hi, I can develop this ESP32 WeatherAPI sunset-relay controller as a clean, reliable Arduino/PlatformIO project. I have **16 years of embedded firmware experience** with ESP32, Wi-Fi, HTTP/REST APIs, JSON parsing, RTC/time synchronization and IoT automation. I’ll implement the complete flow: configurable Wi-Fi/API key/location, WeatherAPI HTTPS request, JSON parsing of the `sunset` field, Indian timezone handling, RTC comparison and relay control with a **5-minute refresh/hysteresis window** to prevent chatter. The firmware will retain the last valid sunset schedule if the API is temporarily unavailable and log communication/parsing errors clearly on Serial. I have completed **ESP32 IoT and MQTT-based automation projects**, including sensor acquisition, remote communication and actuator control, so I can keep the implementation robust while avoiding unnecessary complexity. Deliverables will include the **ready-to-compile `.ino` source, README, required libraries, API/JSON example, configurable pin/location/credentials section and testing instructions**. I’ll structure the code for ESP32 DevKit-C and keep it clean, modular and well commented. Best regards, Subhash Suman ESP32 | Embedded Firmware | IoT | Wi-Fi & APIs

As an Internet of Things (IoT) specialist with in-depth experience in custom software development, I have the required skills to create a clean and well-commented Arduino sketch for your ESP32 Sunset Relay Control. I have a thorough understanding of the core flow you've outlined, from calling APIs to parsing JSON data and making GPIO control decisions based on parsed values. Having worked on similar projects which involved automating processes around local sunset times, I understand the importance of accuracy. I'll make sure that the sketch successfully performs the time comparison and energizes or de-energizes the relay at the right moment, with a five-minute refresh window to avoid any potential relay chatter. Moreover, my experience using sensors and external hardware in IoT projects gives me unique insights into optimizing operations even in complex setups. Lastly, what truly sets my team at Neuravolt apart is our comprehensive approach. We don't just deliver a working sketch; we provide complete documentation explaining all components and their usage. As your long-term technology partner, we will ensure that your project is maintainable in the future; Zukiel doesn't deliver just solutions but confidence and growth for your business as well. Let's turn this project into another success story together!

Sunset-triggered relay logic with a daily API call is exactly the kind of firmware I build — the tricky part is timezone-correct parsing and the ±30s window, and I've shipped ESP32 products doing far heavier work than this, including a solar RFID water vending machine running fully offline on ESP32 with custom firmware and state machines. Here's what I bring to this: → ESP32 firmware in C/C++ with WiFi, HTTP GET, JSON parsing and RTC-based scheduling across multiple shipped products → I've built custom PCBs and full prototypes for vending, HVAC and vending machines, so clean modular code and fail-safe logging is standard practice for me → End-to-end: firmware, PCB design, 3D enclosures and prototype shipping — though here you only need the sketch and README → I can start immediately and deliver the .ino plus README within 1 day, tested on an ESP32 DevKit-C bench setup My approach: → Confirm your WeatherAPI key, location format and relay GPIO, then wire up WiFi and the daily fetch in a separate credentials header → Bench-test the relay timing against a simulated RTC, then hand over the .ino and README with library list and JSON snippet For this scope the cost would be 5000INR, covering firmware, testing and documentation.

I can do this project, I have the ESP32 with me and have integrated Weather API for the smart mirror and on another project I have developed weather station using sensors. I will just need to use RTC module for time and ESP32 that is connected to the internet. I can do it in 3000 within a day and all final along with working video will be shared

I can build the ESP32 sketch as a small, maintainable project with Wi-Fi and API settings clearly separated, a daily WeatherAPI request, JSON sunset parsing, Indian-time conversion, and relay control with a guard window to prevent chatter. The last valid schedule will remain active if the API call fails, with useful Serial logs for diagnosis. I’ll include a concise README covering libraries, configuration, pin selection, and the expected JSON field. Before delivery I’ll compile for ESP32 DevKit-C and run simulated payload and time-boundary tests, including the failure fallback. I can deliver the code, README, and test notes within one day.
