I’m building a real-time monitoring device around the Raspberry Pi Pico (RP2040) and need a robust, industrial-grade PCB that keeps everything tight and reliable. Although extra features like extensive data logging or remote control may follow later, the immediate goal is a rock-solid board that can sit inside a control cabinet and survive 24 V environments. Core functionality to integrate • Ethernet via W5500 • RS-485 transceiver with screw-terminal access • 24 V DC input stepped down to stable 5 V/3.3 V rails • UART header, status LEDs and an onboard RJ-45 connector Design constraints • Compact footprint is important; help me keep the enclosure slim. • Proper grounding, controlled-impedance Ethernet routing and neat separation of digital/analog grounds are critical. • Mandatory protection: over-voltage, reverse-polarity and current-limiting on the 24 V input. If you have additional surge or ESD tricks that won’t blow the budget, I’m open. Deliverables (KiCad preferred) 1. Complete schematic with clearly labelled nets and reference designators 2. PCB layout ready for industrial fabrication, including copper pours and keep-outs 3. Gerber, drill and pick-and-place files 4. Structured BOM with manufacturer part numbers and availability notes 5. All original project files for future edits If you’ve tackled similar Pico-based or Ethernet/RS-485 boards before, a quick screenshot or link to your work will help me move faster in selecting the right partner. I’m ready to answer any mechanical or enclosure questions you might have so we can lock dimensions early and keep revisions minimal. Looking forward to seeing how you would approach the design and protect this board for the factory floor.

Hi, Your project matches very closely with the type of industrial embedded hardware and PCB development work I routinely handle. I have more than 10 years of experience in schematic design and PCB layout for embedded systems, industrial communication devices, Ethernet interfaces, RS-485 systems, and protected power-input designs. I am experienced with both KiCad and Altium Designer and regularly develop production-ready hardware for manufacturing. I have worked with RP2040, STM32, W5500 Ethernet systems, industrial 24V input stages, and mixed-signal PCB layouts requiring careful grounding, EMC awareness, and reliable routing practices. I understand the importance of keeping the board compact while maintaining stable power integrity, clean Ethernet routing, and robust protection against reverse polarity, over-voltage, surge, and ESD conditions commonly found in industrial environments. I can provide complete schematic design, PCB layout, Gerber and manufacturing files, structured BOMs, and fully editable KiCad project files ready for future revisions. I prefer working closely during the specification phase so dimensions, protection strategy, and enclosure constraints are defined early and unnecessary redesign cycles can be avoided later. In my experience, achieving a correct and reliable design from the beginning is far more efficient than relying on multiple revision rounds afterward. Best regards, Thank you for your attention, Jude.

Hi there, I am an embedded systems engineer with extensive experience in both hardware and firmware development. I have worked closely with Raspberry Pi Pico boards and previously designed a custom RP2040-based data logging board. While that proprietary work belongs to a former company, I can request permitted screenshots as we move forward. Your industrial RP2040 monitoring board aligns perfectly with my expertise. I design multi-layer, industrial-grade PCBs using KiCad and understand exactly what it takes to make a board survive a 24V control cabinet. I will deliver a complete, fabrication-ready KiCad project, including schematics, optimized layout with copper pours, Gerbers, XY data, and a production-ready BOM with verified component availability. I’m ready to discuss your mechanical constraints to lock down dimensions. Let's build a rock-solid board!

I would be happy to support your Raspberry Pi Pico/RP2040-based industrial monitoring PCB design. We are a Delhi-based team with practical experience in embedded hardware, control-cabinet electronics, RS-485 communication, Ethernet-based interfaces, power protection, and compact PCB layouts for 24 V industrial environments. I can design the complete KiCad schematic and PCB with W5500 Ethernet, RS-485 screw-terminal access, regulated 5 V/3.3 V rails, UART header, status LEDs, RJ-45 connector, and proper input protection including reverse-polarity, over-voltage, current limiting, surge/ESD protection, and clean grounding strategy. For delivery, I can provide the complete KiCad project files, labelled schematic, fabrication-ready PCB layout, Gerbers, drill files, pick-and-place files, structured BOM with manufacturer part numbers and availability notes, and all source files for future revisions. My approach will focus on reliability, compact footprint, proper Ethernet routing, separation of noisy power/communication sections, copper pours, keep-outs, and practical manufacturability so the board is suitable for factory-floor installation inside a slim control cabinet.

Hi, I've read through your spec carefully - a 24V-tolerant RP2040 board with W5500 Ethernet and RS-485 for a control cabinet. This sits well within what I handle regularly. Areas I've worked across that map directly to your project: - Multilayer PCB design with controlled-impedance high-speed routing - MCU-based embedded hardware across multiple platforms - Industrial communication interfaces (Ethernet, RS-485) - Wide-Vin power stages with full protection chains - Mixed-signal layout with proper ground separation I'd approach yours with a compact 4-layer stack-up, a properly protected 24V input, controlled-impedance Ethernet, and an RS-485 stage chosen to match your environment. I have specific component choices in mind, but I'd rather lock those in together once we've aligned on enclosure, isolation needs, and fab targets. Deliverables in KiCad as requested: schematic, 4-layer PCB with pours/keep-outs, Gerbers + drill + P&P files, structured BOM with MPNs, and full editable project files. A few questions to get started: 1. Target enclosure - DIN-rail or specific case? 2. Galvanic isolation on RS-485: required or nice-to-have? 3. Any conformal coating / IPC class requirement? Quick note: I've been delivering PCB design across many platforms for years and recently migrated to Freelancer.com, so my profile here is still growing. Happy to discuss budget openly once we align on scope - my goal is a long-term working relationship. Best, Paul.
