I have a medical-grade heating and cooling device that now needs production-ready firmware. The code must: • Drive general heating and cooling cycles, making periodic adjustments to maintain the setpoint rather than ultra-tight precision. • Continuously monitor sensors and raise safety alarms whenever temperatures drift outside safe limits or a fault is detected. • Handle the on-device user interface so clinicians can set target temperatures, view current status, and acknowledge alarms. The microcontroller family is still flexible, so feel free to recommend a Cortex-M, PIC, or another platform you know will meet IEC 60601 expectations. Whatever you choose, please write clean, well-commented C or C++ (RTOS experience is a plus) and include: 1. Compilable source code with build instructions 2. Configuration tables that let me tweak temperature ranges and alarm thresholds without recompiling 3. A brief test routine that cycles through heating, cooling, and alarm conditions so we can verify every pathway on the bench 4. Documentation explaining the control logic and any external libraries I will provide the schematic, sensor data sheets, and UI mock-ups as soon as we start. Code quality, clarity, and reliable temperature control matter more to me than squeezing out the last millisecond of response time. If this scope is clear, let’s discuss timelines and milestones so we can move quickly toward verification and regulatory submission.
