Our website is hosted by another company and we use cPanel to manage it. We have Apache SpamAssassin enabled on our account, but are still getting flooded with email. I have spent several days customizing and testing the SpamAssassin 'user_prefs' file to no avail. I need someone who is familiar with SpamAssassin to help show me what settings are correct/incorrect and how to best configure it.
The default score in SpamAssassin is 5. I lowered it to 2, but a lot of spam still came through and I was worried about losing legitimate email so I raised the spam score to 3. Most spam comes through with a score of 1 or 2.
I know how to use the whitelist and blacklist options and have done so. I have blacklisted many spam TLD's such as '.link'. I recently added the 'score BAYES' settings to our user_prefs file, but I cannot get the BAYES score to display in any email headers.
Attached are our current settings. To keep it shorter, I did not include the full whitelist & blacklist.
