I have a batch of battery powered residential smoke alarms still in their boxes that need to be carefully unpacked, plugged into an 8 pin cable that is connected to a laptop and run through a 10 second upgrade, then have an updated internal sticker applied over the current internal sticker, and finally repacked into its original packaging so that its ready for sale. The vendor has supplied both the dedicated programming cable and the latest firmware files, so everything is on-hand; this is an Australian based job for work to be done and completed in Australia - preferably South East Queensland We will supply one of our laptops that comes with the firmware, along with the cable used for the upgrade and rolls of the stickers required. you'll need a steady hand for guiding the 8 pin-to-header connection into the access port, and enough familiarity with embedded device flashing to recognise a successful update versus a failed one. After each alarm is flashed I’d like you to apply a new internal sticker to the back of each alarm before re-packing back into packaging. Deliverables • Every alarm upgraded to the provided firmware version and clearly labelled as completed • apply new internal sticker, over the current date stamped internal sticker • repack - ready for sale Acceptance criteria: all alarms must be able to pass the post-flash self-test and have the updated internal sticker applied. If you have hands-on experience with residential safety devices or have flashed microcontroller-based products before, this task should be straightforward. This can be a task that is done offsite, with payment on return of completed product. can be done in batches (8000 to be done in total)
