I have a TIG welder that is low-end. It has current control only on the power source with no option to connect a remote control (pedal or torch knob) like higher end models do.
I am interested in having a small wired remote control knob that can attach to the torch handle and would allow me to adjust the current up or down back at the power source.
I am mechanically inclined but am a novice at reading electrical diagrams. Project would entail blue print and instructions. All parts should be easily acquired (standard).
Edit 1: The knob must have some resistance on it to prevent accidental current change during torch usage. A very smooth easy to move knob would not be good. Perhaps indexed.

I can do this. I was the supervisor for the welding shop at Incat Catemerans in Tasmania, Australia. Have done this kind of thing a lot of times. Will need make and model of your welder. I will supply wired potentiomet Plus
I have extensive experiance in designing spot weld controllers/timers which can work in standard mode or constant current. Regards Roy
