It is likely the final design will include the:
Buck Switched Mode Power supplies ( Designed for Optimum efficiency)
PIC Board. Ideally with the ability to “select” common LED currents and drive either single or multi string leds.
Obvious extensions are:
Use of the PIC EEPROM to store previous settings allowing a resume function
A “soft” start to avoid lights coming on to full power immediately.
LCD display showing mode and settings for the various colours.
Light Sensitivity input to control the intensity dependent on ambient lighting
Different modes such as:
Sound to light
Colour Phasing on multiple channels, with speed control, allowing pastel and RGB shades to be produced.
“soft white” ( lower blue content )
“strong white” ( higher blue content)
Accommodate the different light intensities of the RGB, making sure all three PWM channels are correct.
Implement fail safe monitoring the temperature of the RGB module and limit the maximum “brightness” to avoid overheating.
