I need to know how much power I can get out of an energy harvesting device. I need well documented information on it as well.
There is an energy harvesting device that takes RF energy and converts it to DC energy ([url removed, login to view]). I need to know how much energy it can draw from a range of WiFi routers (2.4 Ghz). I need information for both low power WiFi routers and high power WiFi routers and a varying distances from 10ft to 50 ft, in 10ft increments. This is part of a feasibility test to determine if a certain electronic device could be powered off of energy harvested from ambient RF energy from WiFi routers.
I have background as a Mechanical Engineer, but I am not entirely sure where to start in terms of electronics, which is why I am looking for some assistance.
