Migrate a self-hosted Node.js/React translation management platform from a single EC2 running everything in docker-compose to a CDK-managed AWS stack with managed data services. **Current state:** One EC2 instance running PostgreSQL 16, Redis 7, MinIO, Fastify API, BullMQ worker, React frontend (nginx), and a Python PDF converter — all as Docker containers via docker-compose with host networking. All credentials stored in plaintext `.env` on disk. **Target state:** CDK provisions a VPC with public/private/isolated subnets. RDS PostgreSQL and ElastiCache Redis move to isolated private subnets with KMS encryption. MinIO is replaced by S3 with instance role auth. EC2 stays in a private subnet behind an ALB with an existing ACM cert, running only the four application containers (API, worker, web, PDF converter) via a slimmed-down docker-compose. All secrets auto-generated and stored in Secrets Manager, all endpoints written to SSM Parameter Store. EC2 self-configures at boot via user-data — zero manual `.env` editing. SSH access via EC2 Instance Connect Endpoint only. **App code changes:** about 7 files, roughly 55 lines. Add Secrets Manager integration for DB password with 5-minute cache and local-dev fallback. Fix two hardcoded MinIO S3 clients to detect real S3 and use instance role credentials. Add TLS toggle for ElastiCache Redis connections in both the main client and the BullMQ worker connection. Add new optional env vars. One new npm dependency. **Data migration:** pg_dump from Docker postgres, pg_restore to RDS, swap docker-compose file. Two minutes downtime. Drizzle migration table included in dump so no double-migration. **Two manual steps after deploy:** enter Resend and DeepL API keys in Secrets Manager. Everything else is automated. --- ## How We Work We have a live develop server that we update daily for testing and review. You work on a branch, submit a PR on GitHub, and we deploy it to the develop environment for live verification. ## Develop Verification (Iterative) - You submit a PR with your changes - We deploy your branch to the develop server - You run the Cypress suite against the develop URL we provide - You report results, fix issues, and we repeat until all tests pass on staging multiple iterative testing rounds. ## Deliverables 1. GitHub Pull Request with all CDK infrastructure, app code changes, [login to view URL], and user-data script 2. Complete Cypress suite — all new and existing suites passing against the develop server 3. Manual tests where needed besides automation 4. Populated [login to view URL] project — all test cases in plain English, mapped to automation 5. Screenshots showing Cypress tests running with results visible in the [login to view URL] dashboard

Hi — Elias here from Miami. I understand you're looking to migrate your Node.js/React translation management platform from a single EC2 instance. This is a crucial step for improving scalability and reliability. The real challenge in a migration like this often lies in ensuring a seamless transition without disrupting existing workflows. What usually matters most here is how the new architecture accommodates future growth and integrates with your current data management practices. The tricky part is usually managing state and ensuring efficient API interactions. My approach would involve breaking down the migration into manageable phases. I’d focus on containerizing the application with Docker, which will help in scaling and managing the deployment on AWS. I’d also prioritize setting up a robust CI/CD pipeline to streamline updates and maintain code quality. I have experience with similar migration projects, ensuring maintainability and performance, particularly with Node.js and PostgreSQL setups. A few questions to better understand the scope: Q1 – What are your expectations for scaling the application post-migration? Q2 – Are there specific integrations or workflows that must remain intact during the transition? Q3 – How do you currently handle user roles and permissions within the platform? Happy to discuss the details and suggest the best technical approach. Looking forward to hearing from you.

Hello, I built many large scale AWS CDK and Node.js React migration platforms similar before and I would love if I get the chance to work on your project. I can move your stack from Docker Compose to AWS CDK, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, Secrets Manager, SSM, ALB, and EC2 Instance Connect Endpoint while keeping deployment reproducible and minimizing downtime. I am also comfortable working through PR based reviews with repeated Cypress validation. One question: should the CDK stack support blue green rollbacks for future releases or is in place deployment acceptable? Can we connect over a chat to discuss more about the project? Best regards, Dev Singh

Migrating from a single docker-compose EC2 to a proper CDK-managed AWS stack with managed data services is exactly the kind of infrastructure work I've done multiple times. I'll write the CDK stack with VPC (public/private/isolated subnets), RDS PostgreSQL in isolated subnets with KMS encryption, ElastiCache Redis with TLS, S3 replacing MinIO with instance role auth, ALB with your ACM cert, Secrets Manager for auto-generated credentials, and SSM Parameter Store for endpoints. The EC2 user-data will self-configure at boot — zero manual .env editing. For the app code changes, I'll add the Secrets Manager integration with caching and local-dev fallback, fix the hardcoded MinIO S3 clients to detect real S3, and add the TLS toggle for ElastiCache connections in both the main client and BullMQ worker. I'll handle the pg_dump/restore data migration with minimal downtime. I can start immediately.

If you're looking for someone who treats your project like their own business, you're in the right place. Give me one opportunity to prove my expertise, and I'm confident you'll want to work with me again. To securely migrate your Node.js/React translation management platform, I recommend beginning by refactoring the existing Docker Compose setup to align with the AWS CDK structure, ensuring all services are correctly provisioned within the new VPC architecture. I have extensive experience with AWS CDK, Docker, and managing data services like PostgreSQL and Redis. I can create the required infrastructure, ensure that secrets are properly managed via AWS Secrets Manager, and adapt your app code to integrate with the new architecture, including the use of instance role authentication for S3. After my updates, I will run the Cypress suite to verify all functionality in the develop server. This ensures that we have thorough testing and minimizes downtime during the migration. I’m ready to contribute to each step of the process and collaborate closely with your team for optimal results. Looking forward to discussing this project further! Best Regards,

Hi there. I have checked your requirement and attached document as well. I am very confident because I have strong knowledge on AWS services. The main challenge is ensuring a smooth transition while eliminating single points of failure and removing plaintext secrets. My approach would be to provision the entire infrastructure with CDK, migrate PostgreSQL to RDS, Redis to ElastiCache, replace MinIO with S3, and implement a fully automated bootstrap process using Secrets Manager, SSM Parameter Store, IAM roles, and EC2 user-data. I would like to discuss more via private chat. Best Regards.

I can help with this, We will deliver the full CDK stack (VPC, RDS, ElastiCache, S3, ALB, Secrets Manager, SSM) plus the app code changes and a passing Cypress suite against your develop server. For the S3 swap, we will use conditional credential resolution so the Fastify clients detect real S3 via an env flag and fall back to MinIO locally. That keeps docker-compose dev workflows untouched. A couple of quick things to confirm: 1) Is the existing ACM cert already validated, or do we need to handle DNS validation in CDK? 2) Should the CDK stack be a single CloudFormation stack or split (network, data, compute)? The number quoted here is a starting estimate. The exact cost and timeline will be confirmed after we go through the full scope together. Looking forward to talking through the details. Faizan

The real problem isn’t just moving containers to AWS — it’s removing a single point of failure and plaintext secrets while keeping downtime to a hard 2 minutes and preserving the app’s runtime behavior. I’ll implement a CDK-managed VPC (public/private/isolated), provision RDS Postgres and ElastiCache in isolated subnets with KMS encryption, replace MinIO with S3 using an instance role, and place the EC2 in a private subnet behind your ALB/ACM. Secrets are auto-generated and stored in Secrets Manager; endpoints go to SSM. The EC2 will self-configure from user-data so no manual .env edits, and SSH will be limited to the Instance Connect Endpoint. Data migration via pg_dump → pg_restore (include Drizzle table) during the 2-minute window. App changes are small: Secrets Manager integration with a 5-minute cache + local fallback, S3 client detection for instance role auth, Redis TLS toggle, and one npm dependency. I recommend CDK in TypeScript for maintainability and testability, using AWS SDK v3, RDS Postgres, ElastiCache (TLS), S3, Secrets Manager, and SSM. I’ll keep stacks modular so future scaling or ECS/EKS moves are simple. I recently migrated ProgramPro from a single EC2 to CDK-managed RDS/S3 with secrets management and CI-driven PR deploys — reduced ops toil and eliminated plaintext secrets. If that sounds good I’ll open a branch and scaffold the CDK + user-data and submit a PR for your develop server. Do you prefer the CDK in TypeScript or Python?

The challenge here isn't the infrastructure provisioning itself, it's migrating a live Docker-based application to a CDK-managed AWS environment while keeping deployments reproducible, secure, and minimizing downtime. This aligns well with my experience working with Node.js, React, PostgreSQL, Redis, Docker, AWS, and CI/CD workflows. I've worked on production systems involving container orchestration, RDS migrations, Secrets Manager integration, S3-based storage, VPC networking, IAM roles, and automated deployment pipelines where security, scalability, and maintainability were critical requirements. I can help implement the CDK infrastructure, migrate PostgreSQL and Redis to managed AWS services, replace MinIO with S3, integrate Secrets Manager/SSM for configuration management, and update the application to support secure cloud-native deployments. I am also comfortable working through iterative PR reviews, Cypress validation cycles, and ensuring all Qase test cases are properly documented and verified. I would like to connect with you in chat to discuss the migration strategy and proceed further. Let's connect.

I can migrate your entire translation‑management platform from a single EC2 with docker‑compose to a fully managed CDK‑provisioned AWS stack exactly as described. I’ll build a clean CDK architecture with VPC (public/private/isolated subnets), RDS PostgreSQL and ElastiCache Redis in isolated subnets with KMS encryption, S3 replacing MinIO with instance‑role auth, and an EC2 in a private subnet behind your existing ALB. All secrets will be auto‑generated in Secrets Manager, with endpoints stored in SSM, and the EC2 will self‑configure via user‑data so no manual .env editing is ever required. I’ll update the app code (≈55 lines) to integrate Secrets Manager with caching, switch MinIO clients to S3 with role credentials, add TLS toggles for Redis and BullMQ, and introduce the new optional env vars. I’ll handle the pg_dump/pg_restore migration with minimal downtime and deliver the updated docker‑compose.prod.yml. You’ll get a full CDK PR, user‑data script, Cypress suite passing on develop, Qase test cases, and screenshots of results synced to Qase. I’m used to iterative PR‑based workflows and can start immediately.

I'm happy to help with this migration. You’ve got a pretty clear setup already, and the main work here is turning a single-box Docker stack into a cleaner AWS layout without breaking the app in the process. I’ve worked on Node.js apps, PostgreSQL setups, API Development, and Python services in production, so this kind of move is right in my lane. I’d approach it in a careful way: first the CDK stack and networking, then RDS, ElastiCache, S3, Secrets Manager, and finally the EC2 boot flow so everything comes up cleanly without manual .env edits. The app changes sound small, which is good. I’d keep the code updates tight and focused, especially around Redis TLS, S3 client detection, and the DB secret caching. I’m also comfortable working through iterative testing on a live develop server and tightening things up based on Cypress results. If you’d like, I can take this on and keep the rollout low-risk and well documented. Osama
