I have a program that I made using Django, a very simple application.
This program shows in a list detections of licence plates from a licence plate recognition software.
It uses a database made in SQLite. The data is written into the database with a different program (made in C++).
I need to make a view that is automatically updated when we have a new register in the database.
The django program can be notified about this situation in a way that we can agree with the future programmer of this. It can communicate with the C++ program or we can create a table in the database for communication purposes.
If the new register is marked as an “alarm state” the django view should update the view with something to catch the attention of the user: it can be blinking red part of the screen or something that the program can suggest. Also it is necessary to play sound on an alarm. There should be a way of silencing the sound when the user presses a button.
The programmer will be provided with a sample database and with the django files that are already working.
I think that this is neccesary to be implemented with javascript, or by other thing suggested by the programmer.
Interaction will be easy, as I am a +20 years C++ experienced programmer.
This is how the list looks like: [login to view URL]
Sir
I am an experienced Python/Django web application developer.
I believe I can deliver this for you but I would do it by adding javascript to the django template. Using the setInterval function I would use AJAX/JSON to update the webpage.
If this is to me some form or alarm it can pop a button which the user will click to close.
I hope this makes sense. If I've misunderstood your requirements I apologise for wasting your time.

I am developing my own website in Django, so my Django skills are very current. I think the C++ program could send an HTTP POST to call the view with the necessary parameters to inform the Django view about the new entry.
Hi there, I am experienced Python/Django developer. I have 3 years of experience with Python, and 2 years of experience with Django and PostgreSQL. It will be interesting for me to help you, get in touch and provide specifics.
