[url removed, login to view] are looking for a talented developer proficient in ASP or PHP (a good understanding of both would be a huge bonus) as well as MySQL and SQL Server to help us oversee the development of a redesigned version of our website. The ideal candidate is London-based (or within easy reach of the city) and has a good understanding of front and back end design. We're looking for a developer who's not afraid to tell us where we're going wrong and we're only interested in someone who's going to have interest in the project. We're keen to make the site an interactive experience and so and experience in user interaction and a knowledge of the concepts and technologies behind Web 2.0 is a big bonus. The site is currently written in ASP but we plan to integrate vBulletin on the new site to power our user registration and forums. Since we plan to implement the user database from vBulletin outside the forums, an understanding of that is essential. The site is written in ASP on a MySQL platform at the moment, but we're keen to explore either or both PHP and SQL Server. An interest in film is a big bonus, we'd love someone who understands why we do what we do. FilmFocus opened in January 2004 and is now the second most popular film website in the UK. However, we're independent and so our budget is not vast. We're looking for a developer who might be interested in working on the project to build their portfolio and who's not averse to receiving DVDs, premiere and press screening tickets and movie swag as a bonus to the limited budget we can provide. Please provide work samples and guideline fees with your application. Experience of commercial development is preferred but not essential.
