Full Stack Software Engineer to Build Cybersecurity SaaS MVP (Desktop + Web App)

An international cybersecurity services company is seeking an experienced freelance full-stack software engineer to build the MVP of a cybersecurity SaaS desktop and web application. You will be directly working with the product owner (PO) from the company’s international team who is based in Tokyo.
Job Description
Full scope:
- Suggest appropriate modifications to the software architecture and design described in product requirements document based on practical and efficient development choices
- Build a multilingual enterprise customer facing web-application that integrates several open source capabilities
Front-end scope:
- Select and deploy most appropriate framework for web application development based on product requirements
- Apply and modify open-source UI templates to represent elements described in product requirements document
- Ensure functionality of open-source capabilities integrated through back-end are adequately represented in web application UI
Back-end scope:
- Integrate PO recommended open-source capabilities into web application
- Ensure efficient and secure deployment and usage of cloud infrastructure (including web servers and databases)
- Set-up and provide access to cloud infrastructure monitoring capability
- Ensure databases are appropriately segregated, managed and secured
Other scope:
- Software testing and debugging
- Apply application and data security best practices
- Provide all requested code and product documentation
- Work with product owner to ideate additional product features and capabilities
Required Skills and Qualifications
- Demonstrable experience (1 year+) building customer-facing enterprise SaaS desktop and web applications
- Relevant education and training in software development
- Proficiency in multiple front-end languages and libraries (e.g. HTML/ CSS, JavaScript, XML, jQuery)
- Proficiency in relevant back-end languages (e.g. C#, Java, Python) and JavaScript frameworks (e.g. Angular, React, Node.js)
- Familiarity with databases (e.g. MySQL, MongoDB), web servers (e.g. Apache) and UI/UX design
Preferred Background
- Experience, knowledge and interest in information and network security
