In our network we use an application which generates log files. We need to
monitoring these files and send syslog message to a remote syslog server
when a specific substring is found.
The solution we are searching for should also be able to remember the last
point checked (saving it as variable in windows registy) and starts checking the file from
this point every X minutes. It should be possible to install the application as windows
service on all windows OS type.
Windows Service application can be configured (GUI is not mandatory, xml file
can be also used) to work in two different modalities:
1. For each occurence a syslog message should be sent containing the string found
2. In case of log files which contains lines for each record/line a syslog message should be sent containing the entire line (no filtering condition)
The substrings to parse can be also specified using an xml files. a key role
is performance. Service should not degrade the performances of local
windows server or workstation.

Hello, We have extensive experience with network programming over 7 years. We definitely can provide you with such solution with highest quality. Please read my PM for details.
We can achieve the same without creating any GUI apps. We can write using a vbscript that will monitor the file every X minute or you can even schedule this script on all servers. There is no mess of installation o Plus
I have already done for a very similar requirement. I can do it using simple visual basic program and install it as a windows service.
