Job Description: Database Engineer (Informatica/ETL)
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Database Engineer with expertise in Informatica and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes to join our dynamic team. As a Database Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, implementing, and managing our complex database systems, ensuring optimal data integrity, performance, and security. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to deliver scalable solutions and contribute to the success of our organization.
Responsibilities:
• Design, develop, and implement efficient and scalable database solutions using Informatica PowerCenter and other ETL tools.
• Perform data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of data.
• Develop and optimize SQL queries, stored procedures, and functions to support data manipulation and reporting requirements.
• Conduct data modeling and schema design to optimize database performance and meet business needs.
• Collaborate with stakeholders and business analysts to gather and analyze requirements for database projects.
• Monitor and fine-tune database performance, identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks and inefficiencies.
• Implement data quality checks, validation rules, and data governance processes to ensure data accuracy and consistency.
• Lead data migration and integration initiatives, ensuring the seamless transfer of data from legacy systems to new databases.
• Collaborate with security teams to implement robust data security measures, including user access controls and encryption mechanisms.
• Troubleshoot and resolve database-related issues, ensuring minimal downtime and optimal system performance.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in database technologies, providing recommendations for continuous improvement.
• Create and maintain technical documentation, including database schemas, data flow diagrams, and process workflows.
• Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and system administrators, to deliver high-quality solutions.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• Proven experience as a Database Engineer or similar role, with a strong focus on Informatica and ETL processes.
• Solid understanding of Database Management Systems, such as Oracle, SQL Server, MySQL, and MongoDB.
• Proficiency in Informatica PowerCenter and Oracle Data Integrator (ODI) for ETL processes.
• Strong SQL programming skills, including query optimization and performance tuning.
• Familiarity with data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and schema design.
• Knowledge of data migration and integration techniques, including ETL best practices.
• Experience in data quality management, data governance, and data security.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to troubleshoot and resolve database issues.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities.
• Relevant certifications in Informatica, ETL, or Database Management Systems (e.g., Informatica Certified Developer, Oracle Database Administrator Certification) are a plus.
