I am looking for someone experienced with setting up AmazonDB environments to set up a 'data model' or repository. Data size will be 2-3 gigabytes. Probably 40 columns/fields in 8 tables or so (I guess maybe in this the idea of tables is not relevant anymore not sure). Data I have is in xml files, which I don't understand. So also need one time upload of these historical data xml files into these tables/fields. (Once it is relational I will have to figure out how to query it but right now I just need to get it structured.). I am not a DBA. I suspect the project would require reading the data dictionary (there is a lot of documentation for the data, and I loaded a sample into Excel and can say it is understandable), seeing the sample schema, creating the structures, loading it in. Would also require any initial Amazon SimpleDB set up like user names or whatever. No security/replication, nothing like that is needed. As such I am hoping I can be within or very close to the free storage/free usage tier.
