I have over a dozen of my grandfathers handwritten WWI diaries written in English I wish to transcribe. The majority of these diaries were written between 1913-1920 by my grandfather, an officer and soldier in WWI who served on the Western Front and was awarded the Military Cross. After the war he settled in Calcutta and East Bengal. These diaries are in good condition, but the writing can be hard to read and will require a very good understanding of English. I wish to have them typed up in M.S. Word. There are a around 5,000 thousand pages and I may break the task up between several contractors.
I will provide a scanned image of each page.
Accuracy is highly important.
I am a fellow Australian and native English speaker. I have completed similar transcription projects in the past, so I know I can provide the accuracy you are seeking. I have a typing speed of 80wpm - however, my output will depend on the legibility of the handwriting (and quality of the provided images), and the extent of any additional formatting you require in the typed documents.
