We have 2249 To Do items in our ACT! Sage 2010 database, that need to be manually sorted into predefined groups. You would need to connect to one of our computers using Teamviewer software (free), or LogMeIn or an other VPN software.
You will go through this list, clicking on names, reading a note left in the contacts "To Do" section, and selecting one of 5-10 options in a drop-down menu, and clinking save.
EXAMPLE: Bob Smith has a note in his activities tab under "to do" that says "36 month letter". Click on Bob Smith and look up his last purchase in the history section (we will give you a list of products and their code names). Go to the predefined drop-down menu, and select "WG". Click save.
Pretty simple, just very repetitive. I will guide you through it, and am happy to answer questions.
This seems like it can be batched and done some easier way, but we can't figure anything out. Since the articles you will be sorting through are not contacts, but rather To Do list items with names attached, they can not be manipulated in any way. If you can find a quicker way, more power to you, but don't count on it.
You do not need to be familiar with Act! Sage, but you do need to have a background in error free, high volume data entry/manipulation. You must also be comfortable with connecting though VPN.
