I keep several supplier-specific workbooks in a single folder and want a single “source of truth” file that every one of them can pull from. The master workbook needs to hold each supplier’s company name and full contact information, and whenever a detail is edited in any file, that change should flow automatically—no buttons to press, no schedules to wait for. Here is how I picture it working: the master file sits in the folder and, through VBA, Power Query or another robust method, watches for changes in the satellite workbooks. When a conflict occurs, the newest entry wins so the master always shows the latest data. All linked files should then refresh instantly so users see the same, up-to-date details in every sheet they open.
