Six to ten tables, one worksheet each, column order and row alignment preserved, raw figures copied rather than recomputed. Worth saying back plainly, because the failure mode on this job is a table that looks right while one row has silently shifted. Method: pdfplumber reads table structure straight out of the PDF wherever the file has a real text layer, which most generated PDFs do. That preserves actual cell boundaries instead of inferring them from whitespace. If the file turns out to be a scan, OCR with per-cell confidence instead, and anything low-confidence gets flagged rather than quietly written in. Then the check you named. Row and column counts per table compared against the source, plus a flagged sheet listing every cell the parser was unsure about. Your visual pass runs against that list rather than against the whole workbook. Totals and calculated fields come across as values, no formulas, as you specified. Reconciling extracted records against their source is my day job. My last warehouse build collapsed a 21.7 million row table to 458K by resolving duplicates against each other.
