Handmade Retail Event Sales Assistant

I’m gearing up for a series of craft-fair style pop-ups and need a friendly, sales-savvy assistant who can win over walk-in retail customers and turn their curiosity into purchases. The products are all handmade—think small-batch, artisan pieces where the story matters as much as the item itself—so an engaging, conversational approach is key. You’ll be stationed at my booth during each event, greeting shoppers, sharing the product background, answering questions about materials or care, and smoothly closing sales on a simple POS system (Square or similar). Keeping the display looking fresh, tracking small-item stock, and noting customer feedback also fall under your remit. Events are typically weekend days, five to six hours on site, with set-up and pack-down at either end. Deliverables I expect: • Full attendance for the scheduled event dates (to be confirmed together). • Accurate end-of-day sales summary in a shared spreadsheet. • Quick notes on frequent customer questions or requests so I can refine the range.
