User enter entire bill items, quantity for each, and cost.
User selects what they have and how many of each item.
Tax Rate can be entered by percentage (decimals allowed).
There can be a food tax rate and drink tax rate (some places have separate % for each).
Tip Percentage can be entered for entire bill or by each person.
If tip percentage entered on entire bill, then each person is required to pay that percent.
If tip percentage is not entered on bill, each person is allowed to enter their own amount.
There is also the option to not calculate the tip (good if people are all paying or some are paying with credit card and will add it later).
Ability to Apply a Coupon to entire bill or select persons.
Automatic calculation of amount paid for coupon (if purchased, like a Groupon).
One view - Users may enter total bill and slide a slider to indicate how much they want to pay.
Another view - Users may enter percentage amount of what they want to pay
The bill is evenly split among the number of people
TIP CALCULATOR Only
Shows a subtotal, tax rate, and before tip total.
Ability to enter a total (before tip) amount and tax rate which will automatically fill in the subtotal
Think about how many times the credit card receipt comes to sign and you do not know how much the before tax total was.
Enter percentage for the tip.
Total is calculated.
COUPON CALCULATOR Only
This is best in case when a Groupon or other type of deal is bought.
User can enter how much the amount discounted was and how much it was bought for.
Enter how many people are splitting the groupon and how much each person owes.
Take a picture of the bill and have it automatically render an itemized bill. If picture is not readable, defaults to user having to enter and message it shown indicating it is not a good picture. Ability to add more than one picture if the bill is too large to fit in one. The picture has to be taken close enough to read it.
Ability to change currency type. Right now, because this app will be in English, just display countries that are English speaking - US, Britain, Canada, Australia, New Zealand...and maybe some other European countries as a lot of them speak english.
I have a few very basic "stick figure" type of drawings that I can include to the selected developer.
