I formerly worked as a designer on a very well known gaming IP before leaving to pursue my own projects.
This game is targeting an eventual PC and current generation console release.
Either starting from scratch or using an existing but limited prototype (UE4). Ideally I'm looking for very solid vehicle physics between simulation and arcade (please see video) [login to view URL]
I'm creating a racing and vehicle combat game with two unique driving mechanics. These will be revealed to the winning bidder after signing the NDA. They require a custom vehicle controller that may need custom engine code (At least for UE4).
Applicants should have an excellent understanding of vehicle physics in UE4 as well as, A.I. and online and local multiplayer.
All code/visual scripting should be well laid out; properly commented and documented in a way that would allow other team members to quickly understand everything should the team grow or you need to leave.
Regular progress updates and good communication are essential.
A live meeting via a VOIP service will be required to talk through the goals of the first milestone to be certain the deliverable are understood and can be met by the agreed deadline.
This is not an exhaustive list of features required, individual weapons and typical game features have been omitted and will be available via the games GDD.
Online multiplayer support allowing 1-16 players (can be a mixture of players and NPCs or only players).
A.I. controlled NPCs who are responsive to each other, the player, the environment and the game types goals (finishing first, blocking, self preservation, collecting and using weapons).
Local multiplayer support for 2, 3 and 4 players via a split screen. Two player should allow for vertical and horizontal division of the screen.
Two game modes, Race (Checkpoint based) and Arena Death Match. The details of these two modes are laid out in full in the design documentation.
You will need to sign an NDA prior to discussion and a contract before starting the job.
This will define the deliverable of each milestone and the remuneration for them once we have gone through them during our initial meeting.

If you are successful then it's highly likely you will be offered the work for the next stage of development. But I can offer no guarantees of any future employment following this one.
I'll have to see a portfolio of previous work proving you can do this, I've had some bad experiences that I would like to avoid again. If you have no portfolio, a code test could be undertaken prior to work beginning with the work paid for if you are successful.
