I run recognition and then proof against the image rather than shipping raw output, because the errors that survive OCR are the ones a skim misses: 1 read as l, 0 as O, rn as m, and hyphenated words rejoined wrongly across a line break. Paragraphs get rebuilt so the text reads as prose, not as a column of broken lines.
