Then I will place the XPS insulation, followed by rebar grid at 18-inch centers tied together with zip ties. The concrete pour will be 4000 PSI with a 5-inch thickness for durability and weight-bearing. I will use a laser screed for a level surface and a power trowel for a smooth, durable finish. I will not use spray foam insulation on this job, it's too susceptible to moisture damage and doesn't provide the consistent R-value needed for year-round heating.
