My 3D scanner streams PCD point-cloud files that contain spiral-shank bolts mixed with other hardware. I need a compact, CUDA-friendly C++ solution that runs directly on an NVIDIA Jetson Orin NX, spots every bolt in each cloud, records the head-center XYZ (and, if practical, its axis direction), and writes the results to a structured XML file. Performance targets • Accuracy: at least 95 % correct identification on the annotated dataset I will supply. • Speed: real-time or near real-time processing on the Orin NX under the standard JetPack image. You are welcome to build on open-source libraries such as PCL, Open3D, Eigen, cuBLAS or TensorRT, provided everything can be compiled through CMake and redistributed without license issues. Deliverables • Well-documented C++ source code and CMake project files that build and run on Jetson Orin NX. • Stand-alone executable with a simple CLI: input PCD → output XML. • XML schema definition and at least one sample output file. • Brief technical report summarising the approach, compile/run instructions, and measured accuracy & timing on my test set. Acceptance criteria – ≥95 % precision and recall on the supplied point-cloud set. – Position error ≤0.5 mm for each bolt’s XYZ. – Processing time per cloud meets the agreed real-time threshold. I will provide representative PCD clouds, calibration information, and a labelled validation set as soon as the project starts. Feel free to tell me what additional data you might need to hit the accuracy goal.

Hi, I am a software engineer with over 16 years of experience in C++, CUDA, embedded Linux, computer vision, and production systems for NVIDIA platforms. I can develop a compact Jetson Orin NX pipeline that detects spiral-shank bolts in PCD clouds, estimates each head-center XYZ and practical axis direction, then exports validated results to XML. I would begin by profiling the supplied clouds and annotations, then choose the most reliable combination of geometric filtering, registration/feature analysis, and GPU acceleration. The result will include documented source, CMake files, a CLI executable, XML schema and sample, plus measured precision, recall, positional error, and runtime under JetPack. I will also check all dependencies for redistribution compatibility. To confirm feasibility, what are the typical point count, bolt size/orientation range, scanner noise level, and required maximum processing time per cloud? Access to negative examples and calibration data will be important for reaching the 95% target and 0.5 mm tolerance. My bid is slightly above the listed range because this requires Jetson optimization and quantitative validation, though I am flexible after reviewing the dataset. Please contact me to discuss details.

I can develop a compact CUDA-friendly C++ point-cloud pipeline for the Jetson Orin NX that detects the spiral-shank bolts, estimates their head-center XYZ and axis direction where the geometry supports it, and exports structured XML results. My background includes computer vision, robotics, embedded AI and NVIDIA Jetson deployment, including real-time vision pipelines and geometry-based processing. I can design this specifically around the constraints of the Orin NX and standard JetPack environment. My approach would be: • PCD loading and preprocessing using PCL/Eigen • Noise/outlier filtering and geometric segmentation • Bolt candidate detection and classification based on point-cloud geometry • Head-center and axis estimation with robust fitting • CUDA/TensorRT acceleration where it provides a measurable benefit • XML generation with a documented schema • Accuracy and timing evaluation against your labelled validation set Deliverables: • Documented C++ source code • CMake project and Jetson build instructions • Stand-alone PCD → XML executable • XML schema and sample output • Accuracy/precision/recall evaluation • XYZ error and processing-time measurements • Technical report and deployment instructions I will avoid unnecessarily heavy deep-learning components if a robust geometric solution can achieve the required accuracy and speed. If the dataset shows that learned detection is necessary, I can integrate an appropriate lightweight model and optimize it for Jetson.

Hello The hardest part is usually aligning data quality, evaluation, and production monitoring with real-world latency and compliance constraints. Integration with existing systems and clear ground truth often drive most of the early risk. What does the current stack look like for ingestion and deployment? Are there SLAs or compliance boundaries I should plan around? Is the work batch-only or does it require real-time inference? Looking forward to learning more about the architecture.

Hi, I like this project because it combines 3D vision, CUDA optimization, and real hardware constraints—the interesting part is getting reliable bolt detection without sacrificing the Orin NX processing budget. I can build a compact C++ pipeline using PCL/Eigen with GPU acceleration where it actually improves throughput: point-cloud preprocessing, segmentation, bolt candidate detection, head-center/axis estimation, then structured XML output. I’ve worked with point-cloud processing and geometry-based detection, including filtering, clustering, feature extraction, and coordinate estimation for noisy scan data. I’ll benchmark precision/recall and timing on your labelled set rather than assuming the algorithm meets the target. For the 0.5 mm position requirement, calibration and coordinate-frame handling will be treated as first-class parts of the pipeline. Can you provide a representative PCD sample and expected bolt dimensions/density?

Creating a reliable solution for detecting spiral-shank bolts in PCD scans is a fascinating challenge. I have recently worked on similar projects involving point cloud processing and have a solid understanding of utilizing CUDA for optimized performance on NVIDIA platforms. Your requirement for a C++ solution that meets a 95% accuracy threshold and processes data in real-time aligns perfectly with my expertise. Leveraging libraries like PCL and TensorRT will enable efficient handling of the PCD files while ensuring that we meet the performance targets you specified. My strong business understanding and commitment to clear communication will ensure a collaborative approach throughout the project. I prioritize delivering well-documented code and comprehensive reports, making it easy for you to integrate and validate the results. What specific features or functionalities do you envision for the command-line interface? Regards, Leon B.

Dear Sir, I am thrilled to bid your project. I can build this as a compact Jetson-native C++ pipeline focused on deterministic geometry first, with TensorRT/CUDA acceleration only where it improves throughput or classification reliability. I’d process each PCD through filtering/segmentation, candidate clustering, bolt-specific geometric or learned classification, head-center estimation, and PCA/RANSAC-based axis estimation, then export validated results to XML. For Jetson Orin NX, I’d keep dependencies CMake-friendly and redistribution-safe, using PCL/Eigen and CUDA/TensorRT where appropriate, with memory reuse and batched operations to minimize latency. The project will include source, CMake files, CLI executable, XML schema/sample, benchmark report, and measured precision/recall plus XYZ error on your validation set. One key question: are the bolt dimensions/types fixed or drawn from a known finite set? That strongly affects whether a geometry-only detector can reliably hit ≥95% and ≤0.5 mm, or whether a small trained 3D model is the better path. Sincerely.

20+ years in C/C++ and signal processing, with CUDA and embedded Linux work on Jetson-class hardware. On price first, since I have gone above your range. 0.5 mm positional accuracy at 95 percent precision and recall is algorithm development and tuning against a labelled set, not a scripting job, so I have quoted for that scope. If some of it can flex, geometric fitting only with no learned fallback, or 1 mm instead of 0.5, I will come down accordingly. That 0.5 mm is also a function of your scanner point spacing, not of the algorithm. If the cloud resolves the bolt head well under 0.5 mm, fitting sits inside tolerance. If not, no detector gets there without a finer scan or sub-voxel fitting against known head geometry. So: what is your point spacing and noise figure? Approach: - Voxel downsample for candidate search, full resolution kept for the fit. - Normals plus RANSAC cylinder fit on the shank for the axis, then fit the head cap for centre XYZ along it. - Reject non-bolt hardware on radius, length and normal consistency. TensorRT only if geometry cannot reach 95 percent on your set. - CMake build on JetPack, CLI from PCD to XML, schema plus a sample output file. - Report with measured precision, recall, position error and per-cloud timing. I would want the labelled set early, since an accuracy target only means something measured against it.
