I run a small but busy turning shop equipped with a 2-axis lathe on Fanuc control, and I’m looking for someone who can jump straight in to keep the spindle turning. The work is entirely on metal parts—mostly mild steel and aluminium—and the geometry is simple, yet I still need reliable, efficient code and rock-solid setups to hit our deadlines. Here’s what I need from you: write fresh G-code for new part numbers, load and prove it out, then fine-tune cycle times and toolpaths so we’re not leaving money on the table. Alongside programming you’ll handle the initial machine setup: jaws, tools, offsets and a brief verification run. When you spot an existing program that could be shorter or safer, feel free to streamline it—Fanuc Macros, sub-routines, whatever gets the job done without adding risk. Deliverables for each part number will be the final, proven program file, an easy-to-read setup sheet with tool list and offsets, plus any notes on improvements you made. If you prefer to work offline in CAM and simply send the code, that’s fine as long as the first pass runs clean on the machine.
