I need a small-footprint Azure application, that I can deploy inside my tenant, that lets users upload a PDF of our “date effective” records and automatically pulls out the From Date and To Date. Here is the flow I have in mind: 1. Upload interface (simple web page or BLOB-triggered function) accepts a single PDF at a time. 2. Azure AI Document Intelligence handles the parsing. If extra text cleanup or disambiguation is required, feel free to chain Azure OpenAI behind it. 3. Your code pinpoints the first instance of the two labels (“from date” / “to date”) and captures the values in ISO format. 4. The result, together with a unique identifier we generate for that file, is inserted into an Azure SQL Database table. I will provide sample PDFs and the target table schema (id, file_name, from_date, to_date, raw_json). Success means each sample lands in the table with correct dates and zero malformed rows. A short README template that recreates the resources round out the hand-off along with a recorded video call walking through the test and architecture. UI for end user error handling using Entra ID as authentification, how much extra will it be? UI Erorr handling as a Traffic Light Status Model with Entra Authentification Use a very visual status model throughout the journey showing a table of files processed with the following icons: [GREEN] Processed Successfully Document extracted Validation passed Record updated [YELLOW] Review Required AI confidence below threshold Missing mandatory fields Potential duplicate record Business rule conflict [RED] Action Required Corrupt file Processing failure Authentication issue System integration failure This immediately tells users where their attention is needed, with a processing button, send to DB, Update, delete.

I can build this Azure-based PDF processing application with a clean, small-footprint architecture and Entra ID authentication. I’ll implement the PDF upload flow, Azure AI Document Intelligence extraction, optional Azure OpenAI cleanup/disambiguation, ISO date validation, unique file identification, and reliable Azure SQL insertion with raw JSON retained for traceability. For the UI, I can implement your traffic-light status model with clear GREEN, YELLOW, and RED states, showing processing, validation, confidence, duplicate/business-rule checks, authentication and integration errors. Users can review records and perform actions such as process, send to DB, update, or delete. I’ll also ensure malformed records are prevented through validation and error handling before database updates. The handover will include the requested README, resource/setup instructions, architecture walkthrough, and recorded demonstration. I can review your sample PDFs and target schema first to confirm the extraction and validation logic before implementation.

I've built similar Azure-based PDF processors with Document Intelligence and OpenAI before, so this is right in my wheelhouse. I'll set up a lightweight frontend (Blob-triggered function or simple web page) with Entra ID auth, then chain Document Intelligence and OpenAI for parsing, extract dates in ISO format, and store results in SQL with status tracking. The UI will show traffic light icons with processing buttons for manual intervention. I'll validate against your sample PDFs and schema, then document the deployment and walk through the flow in a video call. I can start immediately. Thanks, Andrii.

Hi, I’d build this as a small Azure-native pipeline, keeping it easy to deploy inside your tenant and easy to extend later. I can implement PDF upload → Blob → Azure AI Document Intelligence → date extraction/validation → Azure SQL, preserving raw JSON and preventing malformed/duplicate rows. I’ll add confidence thresholds and clear failure handling rather than blindly trusting OCR. For the Entra ID + traffic-light UI, I can add a visual GREEN/YELLOW/RED processing dashboard with review/action states and Process, Send to DB, Update and Delete controls. Base extraction: £450–600 UI + Entra: +£500–750 Complete: £950–1,350 Timeline: 7–10 working days The posted £10–20 budget is not realistic for the full scope.

A small Azure app that extracts From Date and To Date from a PDF, deployable inside your own tenant. Document Intelligence handles the parsing well, so the work sits in the error handling you asked for: what happens when a date is missing, ambiguous or in an unexpected format. How I would build it: - Function App with a simple upload page, or a blob trigger, whichever fits your users better - Document Intelligence for extraction, with a targeted prompt through Azure OpenAI only for the ambiguous cases, so the common path stays cheap - Validation rules: From before To, dates within a plausible range, both present. Anything failing goes to a review screen with the extracted text shown next to the PDF - Deployed as infrastructure-as-code so it lands in your tenant repeatably, with a small cost note per document - Managed identity rather than keys I run document and OCR pipelines in production for industrial clients and deploy infrastructure with CI/CD. One question: are the PDFs text-based or scanned? Martin

Greetings, I see that you're looking to create an Azure application that simplifies the process of extracting "from date" and "to date" from PDF records. You want users to upload these PDFs and have the application handle the parsing efficiently, while also providing clear feedback through a status model. To tackle this, I'd build a user-friendly upload interface that integrates with Azure AI Document Intelligence for parsing. I'd ensure that any necessary text cleanup is handled, possibly using Azure OpenAI when needed. The extracted dates would then be stored in an Azure SQL Database with a unique identifier for each file. For the error handling UI, I can implement a visual traffic light model that clearly indicates the status of each file processed. This will guide users effectively on what actions are needed, making the experience smooth and intuitive. Best regards, Saba Ehsan

I’d wire the single-PDF upload to Azure AI Document Intelligence, locate the first “from date” and “to date” labels, normalize both values to ISO format, and write the generated file ID, filename, dates, and raw JSON to Azure SQL with validation before insertion. I’ll include the Entra ID-authenticated UI in this bid: a clear green/yellow/red status table covering confidence, missing fields, duplicates, corrupt files, and integration failures, with Process, Send to DB, Update, and Delete actions. I’ll provide the deployable Azure resources, README recreation steps, and a recorded architecture walkthrough in 4 days. Is the target Azure SQL schema already finalized, including the unique identifier format? Muhammad Saad

Hello, I'm Denis, a full-stack developer experienced in Azure document processing systems. I understand you need a reliable extraction pipeline that pulls structured date data from PDFs and displays processing status clearly. Document Intelligence will handle extraction, with logic to normalize date fields. For low confidence scores or ambiguous formats, I'll chain OpenAI for cleanup. The key value is giving users immediate visibility into what succeeded, what needs review, and what failed. I'd build a web interface backed by a function app with Entra ID authentication. Users see a table of processed files with traffic light status indicators—green for clean extracts ready for the database, yellow for records needing manual review, red for errors. Each row includes buttons to send to the database, update, or delete. My process: review your sample PDFs and table schema to understand date formats and edge cases, build the Document Intelligence integration with fallback logic, implement extraction and validation, create the status dashboard with authentication, and test against your samples to ensure no malformed rows reach SQL. I'll provide infrastructure-as-code and a walkthrough video. The main variable is expected manual review volume. If most files are clean, the yellow queue stays small. If PDFs are inconsistent or dates are buried in unstructured text, we'll need more aggressive OpenAI prompting. I'll build it flexible to handle both scenarios. I can start immediate

Hello, I can build a lightweight Azure app that extracts dates from PDFs using Document Intelligence and OpenAI, then stores them in SQL while handling errors with a visual status dashboard. I built a similar system for a client that processed 1,000+ invoices daily—added error handling after the first batch failed due to malformed dates. I’d use Document Intelligence for extraction, then validate with OpenAI if needed, storing results in SQL with a unique ID. The UI would show a status table with icons for success, warnings, and failures, with buttons to retry or flag issues. This setup ensures accuracy while making errors easy to spot and fix. Proper validation will reduce invalid records and improve data quality for reporting. I’ll include a README with deployment steps and a short demo video to walk through the flow. After delivery, I’ll help troubleshoot any issues and provide minor updates for the first month. If this approach works for you, I’d be happy to discuss the details further. Thanks, Lazar.

For date extraction from PDFs on a small budget like this, I'd skip heavy OCR and use Azure Form Recognizer or PyPDF for text based files, with a fallback for scanned ones. Upload UI, extraction, error handling for bad files, all deployable in your tenant with Function Apps and a simple frontend. Can start today. Budget and timeline here are starting points based on the post. Once we go over what "small footprint" means for you exactly, numbers might shift. Want me to send a quick scope doc?

Hi, The real challenge is that Document Intelligence alone won't reliably extract dates from varied PDF layouts. You need a system that surfaces uncertainty rather than silently inserting bad data. I'll build an Azure Functions workflow: blob upload triggers Document Intelligence, chains to OpenAI when confidence is low, then stores results with confidence scores in SQL. A React UI with Entra ID auth lets users review, approve, edit, or reject records before committing—acting as a quality gate that prevents silent failures. For edge cases like multiple date pairs, the code captures the first labeled instance but stores raw JSON for auditing and logic adjustments. I'll include unit tests for date parsing and a deployment template that recreates the Function, database, and Entra app registration in your tenant. The UI becomes key: a traffic light status table shows each file's state (green for clean inserts, yellow for review, red for failures), so your team sees exactly what needs attention before anything hits the database. Deliverables: working app, sample test run with your PDFs, README with deployment steps, and a walkthrough video. Zero malformed rows—nothing commits without explicit approval. I can start right away. Thanks, Felix.

**Free today and this is exactly the Azure AI stack I work in** Read through your flow, Document Intelligence pulling the two dates then landing rows in Azure SQL is straightforward, I'd chain Azure OpenAI in only where the raw JSON needs disambiguation so you're not paying for unnecessary calls. The traffic light UI with Entra ID auth is doable on top, that layer plus the status table typically adds 40-60% over the base extractor build depending on how much validation logic you want behind each yellow flag. Recent work: built a similar PDF-to-SQL pipeline on Azure Functions with Document Intelligence for a logistics client, and an Entra ID secured internal portal for a finance team. Happy to scope the base extractor first so you see it working end to end. Want that as the first milestone?

Hi, an Azure app that takes a PDF upload and lands the from date and to date in your SQL table in ISO form, plus the traffic light view over processed files. The bit that breaks is low confidence: it's got to land as a yellow row someone fixes, not a silent wrong date. Plan: a web app behind Entra ID, upload to blob, a blob triggered function on Document Intelligence, OpenAI only on ambiguous text, then an insert carrying the confidence score. Row colour comes off that score, with buttons for send to DB, update or delete. Should yellow rows be editable in the UI before they commit? I have built PDF extraction into SQL on Azure Functions.
