I’m kicking off a six-month data-centre upgrade in Frankfurt and need a senior (Level 3-4) technician who can step in as the on-site networking authority from day one. The work is hands-on: racking and stacking new gear, bringing links online, fine-tuning routing and VLANs, then keeping a constant eye on performance once everything is live. You’ll spend the bulk of your time inside the data centre, so confidence working around live production cabinets, structured cabling and change-control windows is essential. The environment leans heavily on Cisco, HP Networking and a growing footprint of Arista switches; if you can move comfortably between those CLIs and their respective management suites, you’ll fit right in. Key outcomes I expect: • Clean installation of new hardware with all ports, optics and power verified • Rapid fault isolation and repair whenever alarms or monitoring tools flag issues • Weekly performance reports highlighting capacity, latency and any anomalies • Clear documentation of all changes so the runbook stays accurate and audit-ready The project runs Monday-Friday on site, with occasional after-hours cutovers. German or English fluency is fine; what matters most is your ability to keep the network stable, fast and fully documented throughout the engagement.
