I’m preparing a new consumer-electronics device and need its outer housing modelled as a single, well-engineered mechanical part. The focus is solely on the enclosure: wall geometry, snap-fits or screw bosses where appropriate, and any detailing that will let me move straight into prototyping or tooling once the design is signed off. Please build the part in a mainstream solid-modelling package (SolidWorks, Fusion 360, Inventor or similar) so I can iterate internally. The final geometry should be watertight, manufacturable and free of redundant features. Deliverables • Native CAD file of the enclosure • Neutral STEP file suitable for sharing with suppliers • A quick screen-grab or PDF drawing calling out critical dimensions and wall thicknesses I’ll supply sketches, overall dimensions and reference photos as soon as we start.

Snap-fits and screw bosses on a single watertight shell only stay manufacturable if wall thickness stays uniform across the parting line — without a material call yet I'd be guessing at draft angles and boss diameters, which usually forces a revision after the first STEP review. I've handled aluminum structure work with drawings, ventilation calculations and specifications, so wall-thickness and manufacturability aren't new ground for me. What material and rough overall envelope are you targeting for the housing?

Hello, I’m interested in helping you create the 3D model of your consumer-electronics enclosure. I have experience in Fusion 360, CAD, and 3D modeling, as well as SketchUp, and I can create a clean, accurate, and well-organized model based on your sketches, dimensions, and reference photos. For this project, I can focus on: Creating the enclosure as a single, well-engineered mechanical part Accurate overall dimensions and wall thicknesses Proper snap-fits, screw bosses, mounting points, and other mechanical details Designing with 3D printing and manufacturing considerations in mind Keeping the Fusion 360 model organized and easy to modify Providing a STEP file for supplier/manufacturer use Creating a simple dimension/wall-thickness drawing for reference I understand that the goal is to have a watertight, manufacturable design that can move smoothly from modeling to prototyping or tooling. I’m comfortable working from sketches, measurements, and reference images, and I’m open to revisions to make sure the final enclosure meets your requirements. I’d be happy to discuss the project and start working on the model. Best regards, Richmond

Hi, I can build your enclosure as a single SolidWorks part, walls, snap-fits, screw bosses, whatever it needs, detailed enough that you can go straight into prototyping without reworking the geometry later. I've done an enclosure project fairly close to this one before. It's on my portfolio if you want to check it out. You'd get the native SolidWorks file, a STEP for your suppliers, and a PDF marking up the critical dimensions and wall thickness. Send over the sketches and dimensions whenever you're ready and I'll get going. If anything about the tolerances or geometry needs talking through first, happy to jump on that too. Ronit

Hi, I’m a Mechanical Design Engineer with 8+ years of experience in SolidWorks and AutoCAD, including mechanical enclosures, equipment housings, sheet-metal components, brackets, covers and fabricated assemblies. I can take your sketches, overall dimensions and reference photos and develop the enclosure into a clean, production-ready SolidWorks model. I can provide: • Complete 3D enclosure with accurate wall geometry • Snap-fits, screw bosses, mounting points and fastening features • Proper clearances and assembly considerations • Manufacturable geometry suitable for prototyping/tooling • Watertight and clean solid geometry without unnecessary features • Critical dimensions and wall-thickness documentation • Native SolidWorks CAD file • Clean STEP file for suppliers/manufacturing • Quick PDF/screenshot drawing for key dimensions I also apply DFM principles during modelling, considering manufacturing process, wall thickness, tooling limitations, assembly and ease of production rather than simply creating a visually correct 3D model. Primary CAD: SolidWorks. I can start as soon as you provide the sketches, dimensions and reference images and can develop the first version efficiently for your internal review. Regards, Sri Ram

Hi, I can design a clean, production-ready 3D CAD enclosure for your consumer electronics device in SolidWorks / Fusion 360, optimized for both rapid 3D printing prototyping and injection molding tooling (DFM). Having developed end-to-end hardware devices and sensor instrument enclosures, I ensure every mechanical detail is engineered with precision: - Mechanical Integrity & DFM: Uniform wall thickness (avoiding sink marks), appropriate draft angles (1–2 deg), internal ribs, and reinforced screw bosses/snap-fit joints matched to your PCB mounting. - Precision Cutouts & Tolerances: Exact cutouts for connectors, LEDs, buttons, and display interfaces with proper clearance tolerances (+/-0.2mm). - Watertight & Clean Solid Geometry: Manifold, error-free parametric solid model ready for CNC, 3D printing (SLA/FDM), or tooling. Deliverables Provided: 1. Native CAD File (SolidWorks .sldprt or Fusion 360 .f3d) for easy internal iteration. 2. Production-Ready STEP (.step/.stp) & STL files for suppliers and 3D printing. 3. 2D Dimension Drawing (PDF) highlighting critical dimensions, wall thicknesses, and tolerances. I can turn this around within 24 to 48 hours once you share the reference sketches and dimensions. Quick question: Are you planning to 3D print the prototype first (FDM/SLA), or is this heading directly to injection molding? Best regards, Dr. Satyendra Vishwakarma
