Senior Environmental / Wastewater Treatment Engineer – Contract Consultant We are seeking a highly experienced wastewater treatment engineer to lead the concept development and certification strategy for a new range of rotomoulded domestic biological wastewater treatment systems for the Irish and UK markets. This is a specialist consulting engagement focused on developing EN 12566-compliant packaged treatment plants based on Biological Aerated Filter (BAF) technology. Scope of Work * Develop the process design for a new domestic BAF wastewater treatment plant range (4–10 PE initially). * Define chamber sizing, hydraulic retention volumes, sludge storage requirements and aeration requirements. * Design treatment process layouts suitable for rotational moulding manufacture. * Develop concept drawings and design specifications for rotomoulded polyethylene tanks. * Advise on internal baffle arrangements, media retention systems and air distribution systems. * Review structural requirements for underground installation, groundwater conditions and traffic loading where applicable. * Prepare a certification roadmap for EN 12566 compliance. * Liaise with PIA GmbH (Germany) and other relevant certification bodies as required. * Provide technical support during prototype development and testing. Required Experience Applicants must demonstrate experience in: * Design of domestic wastewater treatment plants. * EN 12566 certification and testing. * Packaged sewage treatment systems. * Biological Aerated Filter (BAF), SAF, MBBR or similar biological treatment technologies. * Rotomoulded polyethylene or GRP wastewater treatment tanks. * Product development from concept through certification. Preferred Background Experience with one or more of the following organisations would be highly advantageous: * Kingspan Environmental / Klargester * Tricel * Premier Tech * GRAF * Roto Group * WTE * Clearwater Technology * Similar wastewater treatment manufacturers Deliverables Within 4–6 weeks the consultant should provide: 1. Concept process design. 2. Preliminary chamber sizing calculations. 3. General arrangement drawings. 4. Rotomoulding design recommendations. 5. Certification strategy and testing roadmap. 6. Budgetary prototype and tooling recommendations. Engagement * Contract / consultancy basis. * Remote working acceptable. * Project duration: 4–6 weeks initially. * Potential for ongoing involvement through prototype development, testing and certification.
