We need prototype-ready 3D CAD for two connected wearable housings: a thin, lightweight forehead sensor puck worn just below the hairline, and a rechargeable hub clipped to clothing at the collar. A cable runs from the puck behind the ear to the hub; the hub is not a storage dock. The design should be attractive but functional, with realistic PCB and battery space, optical openings and light shielding at the puck, cable strain relief, a collar clip, and access for assembly and testing. Begin with a provisional layout, then make one fit revision after the electronics engineer confirms component positions and interfaces. Deliverables: editable parametric CAD and STEP files for both housings; assembled and exploded views; print-ready STLs; and simple dimensioned drawings showing wall thicknesses, clearances and fastening. Please state your CAD platform, turnaround and price, including whether a physical print/test-fit is included. Acceptance: files can be opened and 3D printed, the housings can be assembled around the agreed electronics, and the cable route and optical openings align with the reviewed design. Do not assume final PCB dimensions, a puck-to-hub docking fit, or injection-mould tooling requirements at this stage.

Hello, I understand that these are two cable-connected wearable housings: a thin forehead puck and a collar-clipped rechargeable hub. The hub is not a docking/storage case, and the electronics dimensions are still provisional. I would build a parametric SolidWorks layout with adjustable PCB/battery envelopes, keeping the puck thin while reserving the optical openings and internal light barriers. The behind-ear cable route would have controlled exits and strain relief at both ends. For the hub, I would check clip access, battery space, fastening and a practical assembly sequence. My 12+ years in mechanical engineering and manufacturing support a practical prototype approach: wall thicknesses, screw/insert access and print clearances would be explicit. I would review the provisional layout with your electronics engineer before the included fit revision. USD105 covers both housings in editable native CAD and STEP, assembled/exploded views, print-ready STLs and simple dimensioned drawings. Turnaround is 4 working days after initial inputs, with the fit revision scheduled when component positions are confirmed. Physical printing/test-fit is not included; I can incorporate your test-fit feedback in that revision. What provisional electronics envelopes, optical fields of view and cable/connector sizes should we start with, and which printing process will you use? Gokay

Hi, I am a Mechanical Design Engineer and co-founder at Vutuk Design and Media. We specialize in miniature electronics enclosure design, wearable ergonomics, DFM (Design for Manufacturing), and rapid prototyping using FDM and high-detail resin 3D printing. Designing housing for wearable devices requires balancing tight spatial constraints for internal components (PCB, battery, sensors) with organic ergonomic comfort and environmental sealing. Using SolidWorks and Fusion 360, we will create accurate 3D CAD models optimized for seamless internal component mounting, snap-fit or screw closures, and easy prototype iterations. A few quick questions to align with your prototype specifications: Hardware Integration: Do you already have STEP/3D CAD models or exact dimensional specifications for the internal PCB, battery, and optical/touch sensors? Ingress & Material Requirements: Does the housing require water/dust ingress protection (e.g., IP67 rating with O-ring gaskets), and what primary material finish are you aiming for? Manufacturing Roadmap: Will the initial physical validation be done via resin/FDM 3D printing, with plans to transition to plastic injection molding later? Looking forward to helping you bring this wearable concept into a sleek, physical prototype! Best regards, Ashraf Ali Shaikh

Hello, I reviewed the requirements, and the core challenge is designing two compact wearable housings around the electronics while balancing PCB and battery clearance, optical access, cable routing, strain relief, assembly, and comfortable physical integration. I would begin with a provisional parametric layout, then refine the housings once the confirmed component positions and interfaces are available, ensuring the final CAD is suitable for printing and test fitting. I have worked on similar compact product enclosures and prototype ready CAD projects and can share relevant examples once we connect in chat. Also a quick question, will the electronics engineer provide the PCB, battery, and optical component dimensions as 3D models or only as dimensioned drawings? Best Regards, Muskan.
