I have come across tutorial on you tube to make a dynamic wall in run time for the base building game.
and I would like to make something similar but a bit more advanced …

but rather then drawing a single wall at the time I want player to click mouse and draw a square shape room, any size he wishes , then another click should place down all walls and corners as seen in software inc game... please see video and picture attached...
- a standard room is supposed be made out of 4 corner pillar prefabs and wall segment depending on a room size .
- in a room size 1x 1, we would have 4 corners and 4 walls
accordingly room size 2x2 would have 4 corner pillars and 2 wall segments making each side of wall
- unlike tutorial example , I wish rooms only to be square , no diagonal drawing is allowed
- after adding another room, all rooms should be dynamically combined .
- but unlike software inc example I wish to have an option to automatically remove the connecting wall, between the old and the new room. .
thus always having a one big room
I realised one slide is missing and for some reason wont load , this one describes the cost of placing the building... as seen in a video in order to place a building player needs to have enough money …
the bigger room the bigger cost …
which is charged per square unit, cost can be anything even wood or stone , or both
ability to have more then one requirement would be better.
I don't know what size of walls or pillars are used in video from Software inc , I guess they are all
same size and square probably 0.2 x 0.2... I might be wrong
nut it looks that several wall segment create 1 unit of wall.
because I am Using manifactura's building pieces, all walls are 2.5 L x 3 h
so one segment of wall is 2.5 long and when you drag with mouse to draw a room on a grid , logically smallest room would be 2.5 x 2.5 in unity units .
so placement should be on a 0.5 grid … but if you think that I would be better of with full 3 units length and then draw a room on 1 unit grid … I can easily re-edit parts to match ….
but in my case Wall is 3.0 Units Height, 2.5 units Long , 0.5 wide
pillar should be square about 2.8 x 2.8 wide in order to hide wall seems, and of course high same as wall 3.0 units...
