create drag to listview in wpf from external app in c#

I can't seem to be able to figure out how to enable drop from outside my application (like from windows explorer) with [login to view URL] enabled. I found some similiar issues ([login to view URL]; No drop with basic gongsolution sample; Drag and Drop forbidden on panel even though AllowDrop is set to true) but not answer. This is how it is defined in my app (although whatever i do the drop will still be disabled so i guess it does not really matter): ItemsSource="{Binding MyItem}" dd:DragDrop.IsDragSource="True" dd:DragDrop.IsDropTarget="True" dd:DragDrop.DropHandler="{Binding}" AllowDrop="True" any help will be greatly appreciated!
