I need a small library that provides a uniform interface for multiple I/O mechanisms for reading data from large binary files. The interface should allow the user to choose between operating system provided fread based file I/O, buffered fread based file I/O and memory mapped file I/O. The code should be written in pure C (not C++) and it should be tested in both windows (using visual c++ 8/9/10) and linux (using gcc).
I wrote some code long back in this regard. I don't have much time to look back and see what is available in that and what is not. I can provide the visual studio workspace that is used to the developer. It can be used as a starting point to the development.

I have already a nearly ready-to-use code for that (C89), targetting Windows & POSIX (Linux, Mac, BSD, ...). Just need to refine interfaces and it'll be okey. :)
