I have an arduino mega hooked up to an ESP 8266. I would like a code running on the mega that allows for web socket connection. I would like a code tested on the [url removed, login to view] server. Once this is working. I would like it tested on a private we socket server I have.
The goal of this project is to make an already developed device web enabled. This function is being added by the ESP8266. The goal is for the device is send real time sensor data, device state, etc to a webserver. And also to be able to receive commands from the webserver at any point. (synchronous)
This job is for an arduino sketch that will create a websocket using the Arduino mega and ESP8266 that will allow for communication with a webpage. The sketch will need to be able to send and receive messages via the websocket.
The first milestone of the project will be to create code that works with websocket.org. Meaning that a websocket connection can be established and echo messages be sent and received.
Next the code need to be able to connect with a private websocket server. And send and receive messages via the SerialXX. Class in arduino.
The data type that will be transferred to the websocket server will be of types, int, char, string, float, long. And “char” and “string” will be sent to the device.
