It is well known that suspend/resume does not work properly on AMD Fusion E-350 (and E-450) Boards. In our tests it works often around 5 times in a row, indicating the drivers and the suspend/resume handling might be not far from OK but not reliable. The same results apply whether or not default Linux kernel drivers are used (including "radeon" for graphics) or if fglrx is installed for graphics.
Note that there are at least two related supsend/resume issues among different users, but we have only one such issue: That sometimes after pm-suspend is executed, power LED might blink properly but CPU fan remains on and the board is completely dead and does not respond to ping, numlock or when power button is pressed shortly; to reboot, disconnecting power supply for a few seconds is necessary (holding power button for 5 secs does not work).
Perhaps it is not needed to modify drivers, but rather to find a workaround, or do minor modifications. We have some tips and ideas but are no major experts.
However, experience of drivers including ACPI and graphics is positive. Also, for further commitment, experience looking at hardware acceleration support and wake-on-LAN issues is of interest. And general Linux knowledge.
We aim to use Linux Mint or possibly Ubuntu or Debian. Board to be used is AsRock's E-350 boards.
