Overview: We manage the Google Adwords & Bing PPC campaigns for hundreds of customers. Although you can manage multiple accounts from Google My Client Center (MMC) you can not restrict access log in to a specific IP address. We want to make sure that sales and support agents that have access to this sensitive data are not able to log in from outside of our office. The same holds true for our Bing (MS Ad Center).
Solution: After much discussion in Google & Bing forums the simplest solution may be to assign each employee their own log in to our master MMC as well as for Bing's AdCenter, which is easy to do.
Then we would like to create a user interface app or "shell" browser application/ Essentially a browser window with (2) tabs, one for Google Adwords and the other for Bing AdCenter. The application should save the employees password and automatically log them in without actually revealing the password to the account. This could be standalone desktop application, a plugin for Firefox, or we are open to other ideas.
- There are currently (3) employees that will be using this application. Each employee currently has their own username and password to both Google Adwords and Bing Ad Center.
- We have a fixed IP at our office so it will easy to restrict. Not even sure we need to IP restrict anyway. If the user doesn't know his password they cant login to our google account. The only place that the password will be stored is in in your application and that will only be accessible from the employees computer at work.
- You can store the employees password on their computer in an encrypted file. When i install the application on their computer I will manually enter the password and save it.
- I would request that you add an admin password in the application that will allow me to access a settings tab where i can edit the password if I need to change it later on or add or remove the current user on the machine.
