We need either an exe file to be auto-run that will automatically add our .crx extension to Google Chrome, or a java application developed that will do the same thing.
We used to just have our users click a link and auto-install our .crx extension from Google Chrome, however, Google has changed policies recently and we are no longer able to do that. So we need this process to happen seamlessly. Here are the steps to manually install a Google .crx Extension:
Download the extension file from the website and save it to your computer.
Click the wrench icon on the browser toolbar.
Select Tools > Extensions.
Locate the extension file on your computer and drag the file onto the Extensions page.
Review the list of permissions in the dialog that appears. If you would like to proceed, click Install.
We are open to other suggestions as well. Thank you.

Looks easy for me, I can make a simple exe that install or uninstall your extension. Extension file could be bundled with exe or downloaded automatically from web site. If you want i could also make version for Linux
