Secure Backup, Recovery and Sharing (yet to be launched); a drop-in replacement for Dropbox, except that data is cryptographically guaranteed to be unreadable on the server-end.
Someone familiar with Carbon's FS* API ([url removed, login to view]), and its Cocoa equivalent.
We need to show a badge (i.e., an image overlay) on file and folder icons. For example, (a) when a file is successfully backed up, its icon should have a "checkmark" badge, or (b) when it's is not backed up, its icon should have an "X" badge, or (c) when it's being copied, its icon should have an "arrow symbol" badge, etc.
The application, as it stands right now, maintains information about paths and their states in a central sqlite database. We need code that can hook into the Finder (i.e., Mac's file manager) and apply a badge on that file's icon.
It is important that the badge not permanently alter any icon. Based on some parameter (yet to be discussed) the badges may need to be globally disabled, in which case, the icons displayed should not have a badge on them.
We need a solution that works with Mac OS X v. 10.4 and above.
