Small Computer reseller with his own line of workstations is looking for a Reascue Disk not based on commercial products (see GHOST).
The need is to provide a rescuecd with every workstation sold.
The reseller must be able to create on his own the ISO image of the rescuecd/dvd starting from the hd image of a standard installation for the product.
This can be done having the reseller creating the hdimage using a standard filename (e.g. [url removed, login to view]) and adding to a "standard/empty" iso containing just the file "image.raw".
The end user needs to be able simply to put the cd/dvd into his pc and have his original image restored.
The rescuecd will need to be able to show a logo (even just show a jpeg and wait for a key) and a disclaimer (that must be different for every workstation, it can be insterted as a text file in the standard ISO image).
Looking into that maybe the fastest and best solution is to create a small linux image based on a stripped distibution of your choice and inegrate tools like partimage in a way that is transparent to the customer.
The program messages to the customers must not be in english but i can of course translate for you if you give me the english strings.
This must support NTFS at least at partimage level.
Thanks for you bid.
I have used this technology many times already and it will be no problem to create user tool for it.
