Dear fellow Chicagoland reader,
We’re assembling a long-term, high-quality guest blogging team in the US. We're also looking for some geographically-based bloggers that can help us extend our reach. In this case, we're running an experimental project to see if we can begin to rank our site in Chicago-based searches by posting on (you guessed it) Chicago-centric blogs. This is your opportunity to work with an engaging, creative company that pays well and cares about helping you get results from this freelancing opportunity.
We need bloggers to act as marketing emissaries and spread the word about our company and the services that we provide. The ideal candidate is a talented writer that can get their work posted on blogs that speak to and are read by people living anywhere in the Chicagoland area. The articles can be in English and, when our Spanish-language site goes live later this year, in Spanish.
Your job will be to find blogs that will accept unpaid guest blog posts and then get meaningful, useful content published on those blogs that will direct interested readers back to our services through appropriately-executed links.
Now, before you get too excited about flipping a bunch of blogs out to autoblog sites, please understand that all guest blog posts are going to have to be posted on human-edited, relevant blogs that have meaningful traffic and real readership. You’re not paid based on the number of posts that you get, you’re paid based on the location and results of your postings.
Initially, we’ll interview you and you’ll start to develop a relationship with our cheerful Content Management Team. That Content Management Team will help you brainstorm topics appropriate to your niche and give you feedback along the way to get you moving in the right direction. You’ll find the blogs (chances are you already know them) and get to work writing, negotiating with editors, and posting. (To continue working on this project, you must successfully post two blog posts per week. You may post as many as ten per week.) Each blog location must be approved before you post.
This will be an ongoing gig for the right freelancers. We have one freelancer that has been doing this for almost a year. She’s earned thousands of dollars doing this work on our behalf. We want to extend her reach into new areas.
How will you be paid? This is a new one for us – the first blogger works by the hour – but we think that it should work about like it’s described in the chart below. Getting postings on a high-PR site isn’t enough – getting postings that result in click-throughs from a high-PR site is most desirable. (Getting your family and friends to do your click-throughs isn’t going to fly, either.)
For your first 20 blog posts, we’ll pay according to the standards below, with the caveat that we determine “AMAZING” versus “Excellent” and “Good” until we can get a little bit more experience paying guest bloggers. After that we’ll have a better feeling for your capabilities and the kind of traffic that you can move and we can look at the pay scales accordingly.
Unbelievable blog post - $250+ - we’ll know it when we see it
Amazing blog post - $100 – 100+ valid click-throughs, PR4+
Excellent blog post - $50 – 25+ valid click-throughs, PR4+

We look forward to reading your application!
