I am writing a science fiction novel that has some genetic engineering in it. I would like to have a somewhat believable but completely new nucleotide invented by someone with knowledge on molecular binding. The nucleotide should be similar to the attached pyramidine with two key differences:
1. The three molecules on the top half should be identical to those on the bottom half.
2. You can use newly discovered elements, or invented elements that are yet to be discovered. (I know you're laughing, but this is science fiction)
The molecular bonding should be believable and somewhat possible in an alien life form. Point #1 is the most important to achieve. I would like this nucleotide to be feasible in mRNA.
