Senior Vehicle Architecture / BIW Engineer (Restomod / ICE Performance Vehicles) We are building a small engineering team focused on high-end restomods and low-volume custom ICE vehicles. We are looking for a senior engineer who can define and develop full vehicle body structure architecture based on an existing scanned OEM platform, adapted to a completely new exterior design. Project Context The vehicle structure is based on a scanned Mercedes-Benz donor platform. All OEM mechanical and structural components from this Mercedes will be reused. A new exterior design will be applied, requiring full integration of the existing hard points into a new body architecture. Responsibilities * Develop BIW structure based on scanned OEM Mercedes platform * Adapt and integrate existing OEM hard points into new body geometry * Define full vehicle architecture: body, chassis interfaces, structural load paths * Ensure correct positioning of: * suspension mounting points * door systems (hinges, latches) * powertrain mounts * steering and interior package * Design structural reinforcements around OEM architecture constraints * Maintain structural integrity, stiffness and crash load paths * Work closely with CAE engineers for validation * Ensure feasibility for manufacturing and low-volume production * Support transition from scan data → engineering CAD → prototype-ready structure Required Experience * 7+ years in BIW / vehicle architecture / body structure engineering * Experience in OEM or Tier 1 automotive programs * Strong knowledge of vehicle packaging and hard point systems * Experience working with scanned OEM data or platform-based development * Proficiency in CATIA or Siemens NX * Understanding of structural behavior, crash load paths and stiffness targets * Experience collaborating with CAE teams (LS-DYNA / Abaqus is a plus) Nice to have * Experience with Mercedes-Benz platforms or similar OEM architectures * Restomod, motorsport or low-volume vehicle experience * Carbon fiber or mixed-material structures * Experience in reverse engineering / scan-to-CAD workflows Languages * English required * Russian is a plus What we offer * Work on unique high-end restomod projects * Full design freedom on exterior styling with OEM structural constraints * Small fast-moving engineering team * Opportunity to build complete vehicle architecture from scan data Location Remote / Hybrid (US preferred)

As an experienced automotive engineer with over 7 years of specialization in vehicle architecture and body structure engineering, I have built my career around the very challenges your project is presenting. My proficiency in CATIA and Siemens NX will ensure that I can deftly manage the integral task of adapting and integrating existing OEM hard points into your new body geometry with no compromise on safety, structural integrity, and crash load paths. Moreover, my solid track record in working with scanned OEM data or platform-based development will ensure a seamless transition from scan data to engineering CAD to a prototype-ready structure, which aligns perfectly with your project's requirements. Best regards, Sakshi masih

Hi, I have done this type of vehicle structure designing projects earlier. I am a mechanical design engineer with 12 years experience in 3D modeling and 2D drawings, particularly in the semi-trailer, truck beds and machine design industries. I can create detailed 3D models with 2D drawings, based on the engineering details and FEA and engineering calculations for automotive structures. I use SolidWorks, PTC Creo and Keyshot for rendering. Please get in touch with me to discuss this project in more detail. I appreciate your consideration. Best regards, Buddhika

Hello, Your project is a strong match for my experience in BIW engineering, vehicle architecture, and OEM platform integration for custom vehicle development. I have worked on scan-to-CAD workflows, structural packaging, hard-point integration, and low-volume vehicle engineering using OEM donor platforms. For this project, I would begin by analyzing the scanned Mercedes-Benz structure and identifying all critical interfaces including suspension mounts, steering geometry, powertrain positioning, door systems, and chassis load paths. The BIW architecture will be developed around the existing OEM hard points while adapting the structure to the new exterior body geometry. Special attention will be given to structural stiffness, reinforcement areas, manufacturability, and integration feasibility for prototype and low-volume production. I can support: Scan data integration and CAD development BIW and chassis interface definition Structural reinforcement design Packaging validation Collaboration with CAE teams Manufacturing feasibility review I am experienced with CATIA/NX workflows and understand the balance required between design freedom and OEM structural constraints in restomod and performance vehicle programs.

This project sits at the intersection of vehicle architecture, packaging, and structural integration, where maintaining OEM hard-point integrity while adapting to an entirely new exterior is the real engineering challenge. My background is in aerospace engineering and advanced CAD/CAE workflows, with strong experience in CATIA-based structural modelling, load-path thinking, and simulation-oriented design. I am particularly comfortable working on complex geometry integration problems involving packaging constraints, structural continuity, and manufacturability. What stands out in your project is the need to bridge scan-derived OEM architecture with a new BIW structure while preserving stiffness, mounting logic, and realistic production feasibility. I can contribute through: • Scan-to-CAD structural integration workflows • Hard-point packaging and architecture adaptation • CATIA-based body/chassis structural modelling • Structural reinforcement and load-path development • Collaboration with CAE workflows and manufacturability considerations • Low-volume and prototype-oriented engineering workflows I understand the importance of suspension geometry preservation, door and latch positioning, drivetrain interfaces, and maintaining realistic assembly logic when adapting an OEM platform into a new vehicle architecture. The opportunity to work on a clean-sheet restomod platform with engineering freedom while respecting OEM constraints is extremely interesting.
