PCB Designer Needed – Ultra-Compact Automotive/Motorcycle BLE Control Board I'm seeking an experienced PCB designer to develop an ultra-compact, production-ready control board for a 12V motorcycle accessory. This product will be installed in a sealed enclosure and operate in a harsh automotive environment exposed to vibration, voltage transients, temperature changes, and electrical noise. The primary design objective is the smallest practical PCB while maintaining reliability, low power consumption, and manufacturability. Functional Requirements The PCB must provide: ESP32-S3 with BLE connectivity 3-axis motion sensing for deceleration detection 12V automotive power input with appropriate protection Reverse polarity protection Transient voltage suppression (TVS) High-side switching for LED lighting control Digital input sensing for vehicle signals Battery voltage monitoring Programming and test interface OTA firmware update capability Optimized BLE antenna layout Design Goals Ultra-compact PCB footprint Low quiescent current Automotive-grade design practices Suitable for a fully potted IP67 enclosure Designed for future production and assembly Clean, well-documented schematic and layout Deliverables Complete schematic PCB layout BOM with manufacturer part numbers Gerber files Pick-and-place files Assembly drawings Design documentation Native project files (KiCad or Altium preferred) Preferred Experience Automotive or motorcycle electronics ESP32-S3 PCB design BLE/RF layout optimization Automotive power supply and protection circuits High-side switching solutions Compact PCB optimization Design for Manufacturing (DFM) Project Overview The device is a BLE-enabled automotive/motorcycle controller that monitors vehicle inputs, processes motion data from an onboard accelerometer, controls LED lighting outputs, and allows user configuration through a mobile application. The goal is to create a compact, robust, and production-ready hardware platform suitable for future expansion into additional connected vehicle accessories. Please include examples of similar embedded or automotive PCB projects, your preferred CAD software, estimated timeline, and a brief description of your approach to creating the smallest practical production-ready design. Preference will be given to designers with experience in automotive electronics, BLE-enabled embedded systems, and compact multilayer PCB layouts.
