Our family of five is close to buying this house, but the current layout needs thoughtful re-planning before we commit. I’m after creative yet practical floor-plan concepts that respect a Traditional aesthetic while giving us the open, connected feel we value most. First floor • Add a functional mud-room zone near the garage/entry without shrinking the core living space. • Remove or reconfigure walls so the kitchen flows seamlessly into the dining area, keeping sight-lines clear for family interaction. Second floor • Re-work the master suite to hold a king-size bed comfortably, incorporate a double-sink vanity in the bath, and expand the walk-in closet. • Any leftover square footage can become a small office nook that still feels integrated, not tacked on. Basement We’re open to multiple uses and will weigh your layout ideas for: • an entertainment area, • a home gym, and • one or more additional bedrooms. Deliverables 1. Two or more annotated concept layouts (PDF + source file in AutoCAD, Revit, or SketchUp) covering all three levels. 2. Brief rationale for each option, noting structural assumptions and Traditional design cues. 3. High-level sizing guide for key furniture (e.g., king bed, mud-room cubbies) to prove fit. Concepts should be realistic to build and mindful of circulation, storage, and natural light.
