Xiao Hou is a Los Angeles based recording, mixing engineer and sound designer. Specializing in acoustic and jazz music, he has worked with musicians and artists Phil Morrison, Ekendra Das, Bob Weitz, Howard Paul, Bill Smith, Billy Hoffman, Mitch Hennes, Kevin Wallace, Eric Jones, Jody Espina, Tracy Yarbrough, Mark Selman, Randall Reese, Larry Golden, Eric Bolden, EmmoLei Sankofa, Kristopher Kohut. One of his recordings won 135th Audio Engineering Society Student Recording Competition Silver Award.
He was also the recording engineer for 6th Beijing Nine Gates Jazz Festival, the sound consultant for Beijing Poly Theater, and the past president of Professional Sound and Lighting association at Southwest University of Science and Technology.
His interest in audio sprouted from becoming an audiophile in middle school. Xiao is a graduate of The Savannah College of Art and Design with a Masters Degree in Sound Design.
