I'm making a video and need to remix an electronic dance song. The remixing I require will require some explaining. It will involve extending / repeating certain sections of the song and shortening others. In each case however, there will be some composition required to make the song sound natural and seamless. For instance, in a section that we are trying to extend, we keep repeating the same chorus over and over again to achieve the extension. But this sounds wierd even if the technical blending is seamless, so we'll have to strip out the singing in at least one of the verses. That is an example.
The needs is urgent and we'd like to have the song within two days maximum. Attached is the original song we started from. Our version is much shorter, only 3.5 minutes. I have a very rough cut copy that gives you a clear idea of what sections we're modifying and can share this with you one I see your bid and qualifications. This job will quickly be assigned to anyone who can demonstrate they have a high degree of skill remixing electronic dance music.
OBJECTIVE: To create the remixed song as close to my instructions as possible with an end product you could never tell was altered or remixed unless you knew the original. If there are any detectable cuts, breaks, or if part of the song sounds strangely repetitive, abrupt, or out of place, then the job was not done correctly.
HOW TO BID: Demonstrate to me that you have a high level of skill remixing electronic music and provide me with your package price and time to complete. Include two sets of revisions, not because of any changes in instructions, but because there is a lot of subjectivity in what constitutes a good remix that I'm sure I'll have minor remarks and revisions.
PROCESS: If awarded, send me first draft in 24 hours, I will listen and make revisions depending on how well you understood my instructions, second draft a few hours after that, then hopefully we're done. If we're onto a third draft, it likely means something went wrong.
1. Original song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=tzsd-3x9t_Q
2. My very rough version of remixed song with accompanying video (just to show you what I want): http://youtu.be/KXCAFkPK2yE
The below instructions refer by seconds to the places in my rough remixed version. Please read through while listening to my rough remixed version and you will understand what I'm trying to do.
seconds 28-109. you can see i just repeat the same verse over and over again. that's because i need to beat in that section of the song to stay the same. but of course the repetition sounds wierd and unnatural. so it's going to need some simple recompositon. replacement of one verse perhaps without singing. you can use your imagination. just don't change the rhythm and beat of this section.
second 130-157. this section gets a bit boring with no singing. it's the exact same beat that is used later in the song when she's singing. so can we insert her singing in here. perhaps towards the middle/end? it should mesh nicely with the next section, because it's the same but with her singing. so effectively you would just be starting her singing earlier.
seconds 210-227. this section is super repetitive. need to shorten it from 17 secs to about half but at most 10 secs.
ignore the background clapping in certain clips. that's a separate sound issue we're working on.
close up the song with the same ending as the original. it's just a medium beat with the girl's voice echoing "i just came to say hello"
