I am looking for an experienced developer to build a private macOS desktop application that continuously monitors a publicly available Fire/EMS scanner feed, detects dispatch tones, transcribes dispatch audio in real time, extracts structured call information, and immediately sends push notifications to my iPhone whenever specific units are dispatched. This application is for personal use only and will not be publicly distributed. Scanner Feed The application will continuously monitor the following Broadcastify scanner feed: St. Louis County Fire & EMS – South (Broadcastify Feed ID 19463) The feed contains automated dispatch announcements with a clear computer-generated voice. Core Requirements Continuously monitor the Broadcastify scanner feed 24/7. Detect the two dispatch tones that occur immediately before every dispatch announcement. Once the two tones are detected, immediately begin processing and transcribing the dispatch. Real-time speech-to-text transcription. Automatically extract the following information: Date and time Unit(s) dispatched Incident type (Nature) Address Cross street (when spoken) Allow filtering so notifications are only sent for selected unit numbers (for example, specific fire apparatus or ambulances). Immediately send a notification to my iPhone whenever one of the selected units is dispatched. Automatically reconnect if the audio stream disconnects. Run reliably 24/7 with minimal maintenance. Speed & Performance The highest priority for this application is speed and reliability. After the dispatch tones are detected, the application should begin processing immediately and send the notification within a few seconds whenever possible. The application should not build up a backlog of audio or become delayed after running for long periods. I care much more about receiving the notification quickly than having a perfect transcription. Notification Requirements When one of my selected units is dispatched, I would like to receive an immediate notification on my iPhone via telegram using a bot. Unit(s) dispatched Incident type (Nature) Address Cross street (when available) A recording of the original dispatch audio For every dispatch that goes out I would like it to record the dispatch as well and when one of my selected units is dispatched, I would like to receive an immediate notification as well as the recording of the dispatch as well. It could look like this Units: 3327 Nature: Abdominal Pain Address: 239 Hilt Drive Original Dispatch Recording that i can listen too right away. The notification should include the original dispatch recording so I can listen to exactly what the dispatcher said. If any information (such as the address) is unclear or not transcribed perfectly, I can quickly verify it by listening to the recording. The recording should begin immediately after the dispatch tones and continue until the dispatch announcement is complete. Local Dashboard A simple local dashboard (web-based is perfectly fine) to view: Call log Date and time Incident type Address Cross street Units dispatched Audio recording Search and filtering capabilities Reliability The application should: Run continuously for weeks without manual intervention. Automatically reconnect if the scanner feed disconnects. Automatically recover if transcription stops. Never silently stop processing. Maintain logs that show when dispatches were detected, transcribed, and notifications were sent. Please Include Estimated timeline Estimated cost My maximum budget is $1,000 USD.

Hi, I love building apps that make complex tasks simple. Fire and EMS dispatch info is critical and timely alerts make a big difference. I can handle continuous feed monitoring, tone detection, quick transcription, and instant notifications through Telegram. By using efficient libraries, I’ll ensure it stays fast and responsive, triggering alerts immediately after dispatch tones. Have you considered how you want to handle false alarms or overlapping dispatches? Let’s chat about your ideal workflow so we can craft something reliable together. Regards, Nick. I’ve worked on projects like the Car Fleet Management system and the Freetemp booking app, making fast, reliable apps for real-time updates.

Hey there, Building a real-time Fire/EMS dispatch monitor with fast alerts requires prioritizing low latency audio handling over perfect transcription. I’d create a macOS app with stream monitoring, tone detection, speech-to-text extraction, Telegram bot notifications, and a local dashboard. Starting recording immediately after the dispatch tones will help preserve the exact audio needed for quick verification. I’ve worked on real-time processing systems involving audio streams, automation, APIs, and notification workflows. I’d include reconnect handling, logging, and recovery checks so the service can run continuously without silent failures. Do you already have the Telegram bot configured, or should that be included in the setup? Looking forward to collaborating with you. Hi, I reviewed your request to build a private macOS desktop monitor that watches the Broadcastify Fire/EMS audio feed, detects the two dispatch tones, then immediately runs real-time speech-to-text to extract call details and push Telegram alerts to your iPhone for selected units. I’ll build the macOS app to continuously stream and reconnect on disconnect, trigger processing right after tones, prevent audio backlog with fast pipeline handling, and store structured fields like date/time, unit(s), nature, address, and cross street along with the original dispatch recording. I’ll keep it reliable for 24/7 use with automatic recovery, clear logs for detection/transcription/notification, and a simple dashboard for search and filtering. Let’s discuss here now.

Respectfully, the key challenge in this project is not just transcription but achieving a low-latency pipeline from tone detection to notification delivery while keeping the system reliable for continuous 24/7 operation. I noticed that you prioritize speed over perfect transcription, which is the right trade-off for emergency dispatch monitoring where receiving the alert within seconds matters most. I've worked on automation systems involving real-time data processing, speech-to-text workflows, notifications, and monitoring dashboards. My approach would be to build a lightweight macOS service that continuously captures the stream, detects dispatch triggers, processes audio segments, extracts structured information, and sends Telegram alerts with the original recording attached. I would design the system with automatic recovery, detailed logging, and a local dashboard for reviewing dispatch history, recordings, and extracted data. The architecture would focus on avoiding audio backlog and ensuring the service can run for extended periods with minimal maintenance. is the Broadcastify feed accessible through a direct audio stream URL/API, or will the application need to handle browser-based playback extraction? Portfolio: https://www.freelancer.pk/u/zainalitariq245 I'm available to discuss the project whenever it's convenient for you. Thanks.

Hi, You're building a private macOS app that continuously monitors a public scanner feed, detects dispatch tones, transcribes in real time, and notifies your iPhone via Telegram. That kind of live ingestion and alerting is a familiar pattern from field ops dashboards and streaming audio workflows. I’d start by validating the feed connection and two-tone detection on a sample, then lock onto the transcription path and a lightweight extractor for date/time, units, nature, and address, with minimal buffering to avoid backlog. One technical risk / key challenge: keeping latency low while handling occasional feed hiccups and reconnections. Two clarification questions: 1) Should the Telegram notification include a fallback if the bot is temporarily unavailable? 2) How should we treat ambiguous addresses or unclear cross streets when transcripts are noisy? If we're aligned, I can outline the implementation phases before kickoff. Best regards, Brandon

Hi, It looks like the main challenge is reliably detecting the dispatch tones, processing the audio stream in real time, and keeping the pipeline fast while running 24/7 on macOS. From the sound of it, the transcription quality can be secondary to speed, and the app should just recover quickly if anything stalls. I’ve built similar real-time audio processing apps before, where the tricky part is keeping the flow stable when the source stream isn’t perfectly clean. I can set up a native macOS app that pulls the scanner feed, detects the two tones reliably, and uses a local speech-to-text engine to transcribe the dispatch. The app would write the raw audio to disk immediately after the tones, then extract the structured data so only the relevant notifications are sent to your iPhone via Telegram. The part that usually needs extra care is handling stream interruptions—making sure the reconnect logic is simple but thorough, and logging any gaps so you can spot if a dispatch was missed. I’d also keep the local web dashboard lightweight, just enough to review the call log and recordings without adding unnecessary complexity. One unknown is how consistent the scanner feed’s tone detection will be—if the tones vary slightly or background noise interferes, we may need to adjust the detection threshold once live. Another is Telegram’s API reliability for push notifications, so I’d add retries and logging in case the bot stalls. Thanks, Denis

The tricky part is parsing live dispatch audio into structured alerts without dropping calls during busy hours. I'd build it as a native macOS app, audio capture feeding speech recognition into a local database. I can start today and have a working prototype by Friday. These numbers are early estimates from the post, we'll firm them up after a scope talk. I can build a free demo of the audio parsing piece first so you can judge accuracy before deciding.

Build a reliable macOS desktop dispatch monitor that runs 24/7, detects the two pre-dispatch tones, then instantly starts streaming speech-to-text, extracts date/time, unit(s), nature, address, and cross street when spoken, and triggers immediate iPhone alerts via Telegram bot for only the selected unit numbers. Prioritize speed over perfect transcription to avoid any backlog after long uptime. I’ll implement: continuous Broadcastify feed monitoring with automatic reconnect, tone-triggered low-latency transcription pipeline, structured extraction with confidence handling (and always attach the original dispatch audio recording for verification), plus a lightweight local web dashboard for searchable call logs and status/reliability. Estimated timeline: 2-4 weeks (MVP to working end-to-end notifications), then hardening for 24/7 reliability. Estimated cost: up to $1,000 USD (final scope tied to feed stability and tone detection accuracy).

Hello, Your project requires a real-time audio intelligence tool rather than a simple monitoring application. I think you are trying to create a dependable personal dispatch assistant that can identify important calls within seconds and provide actionable information immediately. I can build a macOS solution that combines live stream monitoring, dispatch tone recognition, audio capture, speech transcription, information extraction, unit-based filtering, Telegram alerts, and a searchable local dashboard. The system will be designed for long-running operation with health checks, error recovery, detailed logs, and automatic reconnection to avoid silent failures. I will structure the application so audio processing, notification handling, transcription, and data storage remain separated and easy to maintain. The dashboard will allow you to review dispatch history, recordings, extracted details, and search/filter previous calls. Could you share your preferred technology approach, expected transcription accuracy level, Telegram bot requirements, and whether you already have examples of dispatch audio or tone patterns for testing? Looking forward to work with you. Thanks
